Laurent Mekies (born 28 April 1977) is a French engineer who currently works as the team principal of Racing Bulls in Formula One.
Mekies graduated from Loughborough University after obtaining a master's degree from the École supérieure des techniques aéronautiques et de construction automobile in Paris. In 2000, he started his career at Asiatech in Formula Three before entering Formula One, working for Arrows. He switched to Minardi in the following years, where he worked as the race engineer for Mark Webber, Justin Wilson, Zsolt Baumgartner and Christijan Albers.
When the team was acquired by the Austrian energy drink maker Red Bull and renamed as Scuderia Toro Rosso at the end of 2005, he was promoted to be the team's chief engineer. [1]
Mekies left the Faenza-based team to join the FIA in 2014 as safety director and was appointed F1 deputy race director in 2017. [2] He moved to Scuderia Ferrari in September 2018 as sporting director. [3] He has been in charge of the Track and Performance department since 2019. In January 2021, he was appointed as Deputy Team Principal and Racing Director of Scuderia Ferrari. [4]
On 27 July 2023, it was announced that Mekies would leave his job as Racing Director for Ferrari at the end of the week, not being in attendance for the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps as a result. Diego Ioverno will take on part of Mekies' duties as sporting director. [5] Mekies started his tenure as the Team Principal for RB Formula One Team (formerly Scuderia AlphaTauri) at the start of the 2024 season. [6]

The 2020 Hungarian Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on 19 July 2020 at the Hungaroring in Mogyoród, Hungary. The race was the third round of the 2020 Formula One World Championship, the 36th running of the Hungarian Grand Prix and the 35th time the race had been run as a World Championship event since the inaugural season in 1950. Lewis Hamilton was the defending race winner and the eventual winner of this Grand Prix, Hamilton's second successive win of the 2020 season and his eighth at the Hungaroring.

Scuderia AlphaTauri S.p.A, or simply AlphaTauri, was an Italian Formula One racing team and constructor that competed from 2020 to 2023. It was one of two Formula One constructors owned by Austrian conglomerate Red Bull GmbH, the other being Red Bull Racing. The constructor was rebranded for the 2020 Formula One World Championship from "Toro Rosso" to "AlphaTauri" in order to promote Red Bull's AlphaTauri fashion brand. According to Franz Tost and Helmut Marko, the rebrand as Scuderia AlphaTauri also acknowledged that it had transitioned from Red Bull Racing's junior team to its sister team. Throughout its history, the team has only scored one victory and two podiums, all scored by Pierre Gasly, winning the 2020 Italian Grand Prix and placing third in the 2021 Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The team was rebranded as RB in 2024.

Ayumu Iwasa held reserve driver duties. The car made its competitive debut at the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix. The car achieved one fastest lap, by Ricciardo.
