Animax was a Spanish version of anime channel Animax. It was owned by Sony. It was launched in Spain as a programming block on AXN Spain in October 2007. The channel finally launched on 12 April 2008. [1] [2] Animax began as a programming block in Spain and Portugal in the channel AXN. It broadcast InuYasha, Outlaw Star, Trigun, Orphen, Excel Saga and Samurai Champloo and later broadcast Corrector Yui, The Law of Ueki, Detective Conan, Lupin III and Kochikame at weekends from 13:00 to 16:00, which began broadcasting in Portugal and Spain since October 2007 until September 2008. The channel was subsequently fully launched on 12 April 2008 on the Movistar TV and Canal+ platforms in Spain and Meo and Clix in Portugal. Among the series broadcast across Animax's networks in Spain and Portugal were Nana, Black Lagoon, Love Hina, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Chobits, Devil May Cry. Sony Corporation announced on 4 December 2013, that the channel would cease transmission at the end of the month. The channel's programming would move to different channels in the next few weeks; by Animax's last week, it would air just a repeated loop of 2 shows, KochiKame and Yakitate!! Japan . The channel shut down for good at 11:59 PM on 31 December 2013; "Yakitate!! Japan" was the last show aired. After 3 bumpers aired between a goodbye message, it was replaced with a slide signifying the channel's shutdown. [3]

Anime Central was a British television channel owned by CSC Media Group. The channel launched on 13 September 2007. It was first announced on 5 August 2007, though its license first appeared on the Ofcom website in January. The channel ran from 9pm to 6am, free-to-air on Sky's Digital TV Platform, channel 199; and it was the only channel broadcast in the UK and Ireland which was dedicated solely to showing anime.

AXN White is a channel operated by Sony Pictures Television International Networks Europe. Its programming is focused on comedy and romantic television series and movies. The channel was launched in Portugal on 14 April 2008 and in Spain on May 7, 2012 and replaced Sony Entertainment Television. BeTV (Asia Pacific)

BeTV was a pay television channel, owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment in the Asia-Pacific region. Launched on 2 April 2012, it replaced AXN Beyond as a spin-off of AXN Asia and Sony Entertainment Television. Selected programs from AXN Philippines and SET were exclusively available in the Philippine feed of the channel. AXN Beyond HD, renamed BeTV HD on 2 April 2012. The renamed channel would become the first channel that cease to be carried on Astro B.yond HD and Astro B.yond PVR on 26 August 2013 at midnight. BeTV was finally shut down on 15 October 2014 due to its merger with SET to form Sony Channel.

Locomotion was a Latin American cable channel dedicated to anime and animated shows targeting primarily an 18–34 audience, broadcasting movies, TV series and shorts. It was launched on 1 November 1996 and was closed down on 31 July 2005. It was also broadcast in Portugal through Cabovisão and TVCabo, and in Spain by satellite TV provider Vía Digital until 2003 due to administrative reasons with the TV operator.

Animax Portugal was the Portuguese version of Animax. The channel launched in April 2008 and was closed in May 2011. Originally, the channel broadcast anime only, but started airing live-action shows in 2009.

Animax was a Latin American cable television channel, serving as the regional variant of the Japanese network of the same name. It was launched on 31 July 2005, replacing Locomotion, which was acquired by Sony on 18 January of the same year. Animax was divided into four feeds: three in Spanish and one in Portuguese (Brazil).

AXN Black

AXN Black is a channel operated by Sony Pictures Television International Networks Europe. Its programming is basically focused on action and crime television series and movies. The channel was first launched in Portugal, Angola and Mozambique on May 9, 2011 and replaced Animax. Central European version was launched on October 1, 2013 in Hungary, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Moldova where has replaced AXN Sci Fi. On October 3, 2017 the channel was replaced by Sony Movie Channel in Hungary. On February 17, 2020 the channel was replaced by AXN Movies in Portugal, Angola and Mozambique.

Animax (Indian TV channel)

Animax was an Indian television channel owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment. It was operated and broadcast from Singapore by Animax Asia and distributed by Sony Pictures Networks India Pvt. Ltd. It started hindi dub of anime for some time and their age demographic was 7–14 years.Then it only shows eng dub with some Japanese with eng sub and was also the first animation channel that targets the age 15–25 demographic and was the only channel in India to simulcast anime in the same week and on the same day as Japan.
