Canal Street was a station on the Long Island Rail Road's Main Line and Montauk Branch at Canal Street (now 168th Street) in Jamaica, Queens, New York City, United States.
The station opened on June 24, 1890, when the local Atlantic Avenue rapid transit trains were extended from Woodhaven Junction through Jamaica to Rockaway Junction, their new terminal. [1] The station was closed in 1899, soon after the "rapid transit" trains started running to the Brooklyn Bridge. [2] Seventeen years later, Brooklyn–Manhattan Transit Corporation opened 168th Street Station on the Jamaica Elevated Line as a replacement, which existed until 1977. The vicinity of the station is now occupied by the 104th Field Artillery Armory building of the New York Army National Guard, which was built in 1933.

The Chrystie Street Connection is a set of New York City Subway tunnels running the length of Chrystie Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It is one of the few track connections between lines of the former Brooklyn–Manhattan Transit Corporation (BMT) and Independent Subway System (IND) divisions, which together constitute the system's B Division. A major branch of the IND Sixth Avenue Line, it connects the Sixth Avenue Line to the BMT Brighton Line and BMT Fourth Avenue Line via the north side of the Manhattan Bridge and to the BMT Jamaica Line over the Williamsburg Bridge. The project, opened in 1967 and 1968, also includes the Sixth Avenue Line's Grand Street and 57th Street stations, the latter of which is not part of the connection itself.
The IND Eighth Avenue Line is a rapid transit line in New York City, United States, and is part of the B Division of the New York City Subway. Opened in 1932, it was the first line of the Independent Subway System (IND); as such, New Yorkers originally applied the Eighth Avenue Subway name to the entire IND system.

Rockaway Junction was a junction and station on the Long Island Rail Road's Main Line and Montauk Branch in Hillside, Queens, New York City, United States. It was located in the vicinity where the Montauk Branch now crosses over the two eastbound passenger tracks and the two freight tracks of the Main Line, just west of the Hillside Facility, although at the time of the station's existence it was at ground level along with the junction itself.
The Metropolitan Avenue station was a station on the demolished section of the BMT Jamaica Line in Queens, New York City. It opened in 1918 and closed in 1985 in anticipation of the opening of the Archer Avenue lines. The next stop to the north was Queens Boulevard, until it was closed in 1985. The next stop to the south was 121st Street.
The Queens Boulevard station was a local station on the demolished section of the BMT Jamaica Line in Queens, New York City. It had two tracks and two side platforms, with space for a third track in the center. This station was built as part of the Dual Contracts. It opened on July 3, 1918, and was closed in 1985 in anticipation of the Archer Avenue Subway, and due to political pressure in the area. The next stop to the north was Sutphin Boulevard, until it was closed in 1977 and Queens Boulevard became a terminal station. The next stop to the south was Metropolitan Avenue.
