East Moriches is a former railroad station on the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It was located near Pine Street and Railroad Avenue in East Moriches, New York.
East Moriches station was originally built in 1897, and throughout much of its history has existed as a flag stop which has served more freight than passengers. The station agency closed in 1932, and burned on September 22, 1936. [1] A second depot was built at some point as a brick structure, but continued to operate primarily as a freight station and a flag stop, as the original depot did. Despite efforts to keep this station open, as well as Brookhaven and Eastport stations, the New York State Public Service Commission gave the Long Island Rail Road permission to close them all on October 6, 1958. [2] Commuters were advised by the Long Island Rail Road to use Center Moriches station instead. As of 2006, the former station still remains standing as a private residence. The Center Moriches station was closed in 1998, and had been only a sheltered platform in its last 13 years of existence.
The Atlantic Terminal is the westernmost commuter rail terminal on the Long Island Rail Road's (LIRR) Atlantic Branch, located at Flatbush Avenue and Atlantic Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn, New York City. It is the primary terminal for the West Hempstead Branch, and a peak-hour terminal for some trains on the Hempstead Branch, Far Rockaway Branch, Long Beach Branch, and Port Jefferson Branch; most other service is provided by frequent shuttles to Jamaica station. The terminal is located in the City Terminal Zone, the LIRR's Zone 1, and thus part of the CityTicket program.
Medford is a station in the hamlet of Medford, New York on the Main Line of the Long Island Rail Road. Medford is located on New York State Route 112 between Peconic Avenue and Long Island Avenue. Access to the station is available from a narrow curving roadway leading off Route 112. This roadway used to connected with the Ohio Avenue intersection until Ohio Avenue was closed north of Peconic Avenue in 2007. It is also accessible from the north end of Oregon Avenue, although the Medford Fire Department periodically closes the Oregon Avenue access road for drills or other exercises.
Central Islip is a station on the Main Line of the Long Island Rail Road. It is at the southwest corner of Suffolk County Road 100 and Lowell Avenue in Central Islip, New York. Short-term parking is also available on Suffolk CR 100 across from the intersections between Pineville and Hawthorne Avenues.
Brentwood is a station on the Main Line of the Long Island Rail Road. It is officially located at Suffolk County Road 100 and Brentwood Road in Brentwood, New York. However, it has parking facilities and other amenities that are extended far beyond its given location. The actual station is located across the tracks from the dead end of Eighth Street near Leroy Avenue. The parking lot entrance is on Suffolk Avenue 1⁄2 mile (0.80 km) east of Brentwood Road/Washington Avenue.
Deer Park is a station along the Main Line of the Long Island Rail Road. It is officially located at Pineaire Drive, Executive Avenue, and Long Island Avenue in Baywood, New York.
Amagansett is a station on the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road, at Main Street (NY 27) and Abrahms Landing Road in Amagansett, New York.
Oakdale is a railroad station on the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road, on the corner of Oakdale-Bohemia Road and Montauk Boulevard in view of Montauk Highway across Norman DeMott Park, in Oakdale, New York.
Speonk is an unmanned railroad station on the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It is located on Phillips Avenue at Depot Road in Speonk, New York, just north of Montauk Highway. The station has two parking lots, one operated by the Long Island Rail Road, and the other operated by the Town of Southampton, both of which are free. It also lies adjacent to one of the largest railroad yards on Long Island's East End. This yard is mostly used to hold passenger consists, as a handful of trains terminate at Speonk rather than continue all the way to Montauk.
Eastport was a railroad station built on the former Manorville Branch of the Long Island Rail Road in Eastport, New York. It was opened in 1870 and closed in 1958. It was the easternmost station along both branches in the Town of Brookhaven.
Mill Neck is a former rail station along the Oyster Bay Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It is located between Oyster Bay and Locust Valley stations. As of 2017, the historic former station depot is home to Mill Neck's village hall, post office, and an Old Brookville Police Department substation.
Center Moriches was a station stop along the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It was located on Railroad Avenue and Hamilton Street in Center Moriches, New York.
Bayport was a station stop along the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It was located on Railroad Street between Oakwood and Snedecor Avenues in Bayport, New York, and was the easternmost station along the Montauk Branch in the Town of Islip.
Brookhaven was a station stop along the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road located at Bridge Street and Old Stump Road.
Mastic was a station stop along the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It was located on the corner of Mastic Road and Mastic Boulevard at the Mastic Road grade crossing, near the Fire Department and Mastic Seafoods.
Calverton was a station stop along the Greenport Branch of the Long Island Rail Road in Calverton, New York. The station was built in 1880 and closed in 1981.
Setauket was a station stop along the Port Jefferson Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. The station was located on the north side of the tracks just east of the bridge where Gnarled Hollow Road passes under the tracks in East Setauket. Access to the station was through a driveway which emptied onto Gnarled Hollow Road just north of the bridge on the east side of the road. The station opened in July 1873, and closed on June 27, 1980.
South Farmingdale was a station along the Central Branch of the Long Island Rail Road in South Farmingdale, New York, United States.
Corona was a station along the Port Washington Branch of the Long Island Rail Road in the Corona section of Queens, New York City. It was one of two stations built by the Flushing Railroad in Corona, this one having been at Grand Avenue and 45th Avenue. The station first opened as Fashion Race Course in March 1855, then renamed West Flushing, once the West Flushing station at 108th Street closed and possibly when the race track was closed in 1869, and later renamed Corona around June 1872 when the Post Office was opened under the name of Corona. The race pens were located on this street which led directly north to the Fashion Race Course.
Queenswater was a train station along the Long Beach Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It was located along Reynolds Channel and was used between 1898 and 1936 to serve numerous fishing clubs and hotels.
Jamesport was a station stop along the Greenport Branch of the Long Island Rail Road in Jamesport, New York. Jamesport's original name was James' Port from the community a mile south of the railroad.
