Manorville was a railroad station on the Main Line of the Long Island Rail Road in Manorville, New York. The station was built in 1844 and closed in 1968.
Manorville station originally opened on July 29, 1844 as "St. George’s Manor" station, [1] and later shortened to "Manor Station." According to local history, the first station agent, Seth Raynor, who was a patriot during the American Revolutionary War, painted over the "St. George’s," leaving "Manor" exposed, because it reminded him of colonial domination. The town name changed to Manorville with opening of the post office, but timetables and LIRR documents retained the name "Manor" until either 1907 or 1908. [2]
The first station house was razed in September 1869, the same year that Manorville became the western terminus of the Sag Harbor Branch, which was built by Oliver Charlick to prevent the South Side Railroad of Long Island from extending its main line east of Patchogue. After the LIRR acquired the SSRRLI, Charlick extended the now Brooklyn and Montauk Railroad to Eastport Station in 1881, and when the Montauk Branch was extended between Bridgehampton to Montauk in 1895, [3] this section between Manorville and Eastport was renamed the Manorville Branch. Manorville was also intended to be the terminus of one of two formerly proposed extensions of the Wading River Branch. [4] The second station house was built in May 1871, and was finally renamed "Manorville" approximately in 1910. This station was razed in June 1941 and replaced with a sheltered shed. By 1949, the Manorville Branch was abandoned. The station was finally razed in 1968 and discontinued as a station stop. A former hotel and restaurant now known as The Maples Inn, which served commuters from both branches, still exists to this day. [5]
The Montauk Branch is a rail line owned and operated by the Long Island Rail Road in the U.S. state of New York. The line runs the length of Long Island, 115 miles (185 km) from Long Island City to Montauk. However, in LIRR maps and schedules for public use, the term Montauk Branch refers to the line east of Babylon; service from Jamaica to Babylon is covered by separate Babylon Branch schedules, while the line west of Jamaica is currently unused for passenger service. A select number of Montauk Branch trains operate via the Main Line and Central Branch during peak hours.
Lynbrook is a Long Island Rail Road commuter train station in Lynbrook, New York. The station is located at the intersection of Sunrise Highway and Peninsula Boulevard and is located on the railroad's Montauk Branch and Long Beach Branch lines and is served by Long Beach Branch trains and select weekday Babylon Branch trains.
The Babylon station is a station on the Long Island Rail Road in the village of Babylon, New York at Railroad Avenue west of Deer Park Avenue. It is on the Montauk Branch and is the eastern terminus of the Babylon Branch service. To the west is the junction with the Central Branch, which heads northwest to join the Main Line at Bethpage Interlocking southeast of the Bethpage station. Babylon station is elevated with two island platforms and is wheelchair accessible through elevator access. The electrified portion of the Montauk Branch ends east of the station.
The South Side Railroad of Long Island was a railroad company in the U.S. state of New York. Chartered in 1860 and first opened in 1867 as a competitor to the Long Island Rail Road, it was reorganized in 1874 as the Southern Railroad of Long Island and leased in 1876 to the LIRR. After a reorganization as the Brooklyn and Montauk Railroad in 1879 it was merged in 1889.
St. Albans is a station on the Long Island Rail Road's Montauk Branch in St. Albans, Queens, New York on the southwest corner of Linden Boulevard and Montauk Place, although the segment of Montauk Place that once intersected with Linden Boulevard has been abandoned and fenced off.
The Sag Harbor Branch was a branch of the Long Island Rail Road that was the eastern terminal on the south shore line of Long Island from 1869 to 1895 and then was a spur from Bridgehampton to Sag Harbor, New York from 1895 to 1939.

Speonk is an unmanned railroad station on the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It is located on Phillips Avenue at Depot Road in Speonk, New York, just north of Montauk Highway. The station has two parking lots, one operated by the Long Island Rail Road, and the other operated by the Town of Southampton, both of which are free. It also lies adjacent to one of the largest railroad yards on Long Island's East End. This yard is mostly used to hold passenger consists, as a handful of trains terminate at Speonk rather than continue all the way to Montauk.
Hampton Bays is a railroad station along the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It is on Good Ground Road between Springville Road and Suffolk CR 32 in Hampton Bays, New York.
Eastport was a railroad station built on the former Manorville Branch of the Long Island Rail Road in Eastport, New York. It was opened in 1870 and closed in 1958. It was the easternmost station along both branches in the Town of Brookhaven.

Sag Harbor was the terminus of the abandoned Sag Harbor Branch of the Long Island Rail Road, and was one of two stations within the village of Sag Harbor, New York. It opened in 1870 with the arrival of the LIRR into Sag Harbor, and was the eastern terminus of the LIRR on the south fork of Long Island until 1895, when the Brooklyn and Montauk Railroad built a line from Bridgehampton to Montauk, thus converting the line into a spur north of Bridgehampton. Besides the standard passenger station, it also contained a freight house, and "express building," two yards, a spur to "Long Wharf" which was owned by the LIRR affiliated Montauk Steamboat Company, a coal trestle, a turntable, and a three-story grain storage building owned by The station was rebuilt in 1909 in a manner similar to such stations as Riverhead, Bay Shore, Manhasset, and Bayside stations, among others. During World War I, it was used to transport torpedoes to Long Wharf in order to test them. It was abandoned in 1939 along with the branch. Today, Long Wharf is Suffolk County Road 81, and the former freight house became the Sag Harbor Garden Center's retail store until February 1, 2022, when renovations began to transform to building into Kidd Squid Brewing Company's flagship tasting room, which opened in July 2022 and continues in operation today.
The Cannonball is a seasonal named train operated by the Long Island Rail Road between Penn Station in New York City and Montauk on the east end of Long Island, New York. The train operates weekly between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend, operating eastbound on Fridays and westbound on Sundays, with westbound service also being offered through Columbus Day weekend. The train utilizes dual-mode DM30AC locomotives and C3 coaches, the same rolling stock as other LIRR diesel and dual-mode trains, and takes slightly less than three hours to travel the 118-mile (190 km) route.
