President Joe Biden also hosted Modi for a bilateral meeting in his home. He welcomed the progress made towards India sealing procurement of 31 long-endurance MQ-9B armed drones from American defence major General Atomics. PM Modi also addressed the 'Summit of the Future' at the UN General Assembly during the trip. [131]

Narendra Damodardas Modi is an Indian politician who has served as Prime Minister of India since 2014. Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014 and is the member of parliament (MP) for Varanasi. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a right-wing Hindu nationalist paramilitary volunteer organisation. Meenakshi Lekhi is an Indian politician who served as the Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture of India from 7 July 2021 till 10 June 2024. She was a Member of Parliament from New Delhi Parliamentary constituency in the 16th and 17th Lok Sabha from the Bharatiya Janata Party. She is also a lawyer in the Supreme Court of India.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">First Modi ministry</span> Government of India (2014–2019)

The First Narendra Modi ministry is the Council of Ministers headed by Narendra Modi that was formed after the 2014 general election which was held in nine phases from 7 April to 12 May in 2014. The results of the election were announced on 16 May 2014 and this led to the formation of the 16th Lok Sabha. The Council assumed office from 27 May 2014.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Donyi Polo Airport, Itanagar</span> Airport in Arunachal Pradesh, India

Donyi Polo Airport, also known as Hollongi Airport, is a domestic airport serving Itanagar, the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is located at Hollongi, situated 14 km (8.7 mi) south from the city centre, in the Papum Pare district. It is built by the Airports Authority of India, over an area of 320 hectares. The airport is the 16th airport of Northeast India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the airport on 9 February 2019. Construction was started on 15 December 2020, and was inaugurated on 19 November 2022, with flight services started by IndiGo to Kolkata and Mumbai from 28 November 2022.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Asian foreign policy of the Narendra Modi government</span>

The most significant initiative made by the Narendra Modi government is the focus on neighbouring countries and major Asian powers coupled with emphasizing on the two decades old Look East policy. Asia being the major focus area of his foreign policy, Modi and his foreign minister chose several Asian countries for their initial bilateral visits. He has made state visits to Bhutan and Nepal and Japan within the first 100 days of his government and also hosted Asian leaders like former Prime Minister Tony Abbott of Australia, President Xi Jinping of China and Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng of Vietnam, apart from inviting SAARC leaders in his inauguration ceremony. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has also made official visits to several Asian capitals like Dhaka, Bangladesh, Kathmandu, Nepal, Naypidaw, Myanmar, Singapore, Hanoi, Vietnam, Manama, Bahrain, Kabul, Afghanistan, Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Malé, Maldives, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Seoul, South Korea and Beijing China.

<i>Mann Ki Baat</i> Indian radio programme hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Mann Ki Baat is an Indian radio programme hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he addresses Indians on All India Radio, DD National and DD News. Since the first show on 3 October 2014, there have been 110 episodes. The 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat was broadcast on 30 April 2023 and was broadcast worldwide.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">South Asian foreign policy of the Narendra Modi government</span>

The Neighbourhood First policy of India is a core component of India's foreign policy. It focuses on peaceful relations and collaborative, synergetic co-development with its South Asian neighbours of the Indian subcontinent encompassing a diverse range of topics, such as economics, technology, research, education, connectivity, the space program, defence security, and addressing environment and climate challenge. This policy creates new avenues while leveraging to the existing regional cooperation initiatives such as SAARC, SASEC, BBIN, and BIMSTEC. It complements India's Look East policy focused on Southeast Asia and Look West Policy focused on Middle East.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Purvanchal Expressway</span> Indian expressway connecting Lucknow and Ghazipur

Purvanchal Expressway is a 340.8 km long, 6-lane wide access-controlled expressway in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The expressway connects Chand Saray village near Gosainganj in Lucknow district with Haydaria village on NH-31 in Ghazipur district. It is developed by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA). The Purvanchal Expressway has a 3.2 km long airstrip at Akhalkiri Karwat village near Kurebhar in Sultanpur district for emergency landing of aircraft. The construction work was started by the UPEIDA on 10 October 2018 and was inaugurated and opened to the public on 16 November 2021.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Premiership of Narendra Modi</span> Period of government of India since 2014

The premiership of Narendra Modi began 26 May 2014 with his swearing-in as the Prime Minister of India at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. He became the 14th Prime Minister of India, succeeding Manmohan Singh of the Indian National Congress. Modi's first cabinet consisted of 45 ministers, 25 fewer than the previous United Progressive Alliance government. A total of 21 ministers were added to the council of ministers on 9 November 2014.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Second oath of office ceremony of Narendra Modi</span>

Narendra Modi, parliamentary leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, started his tenure after his oath of office as the 16th Prime Minister of India on 30 May 2019. Several other ministers were also sworn in along with Modi. The ceremony was noted by media for being the first ever oath of office of an Indian Prime Minister to have been attended by the heads of all BIMSTEC countries.

The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is a group of autonomous government public medical universities of higher education under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. These institutes have been declared by an Act of Parliament as Institutes of National Importance. AIIMS New Delhi, the forerunner institute, was established in 1956. Since then, 24 more institutes were announced.

Central Vista Redevelopment Project refers to the ongoing redevelopment to revamp the Central Vista, India's central administrative area located near Raisina Hill, New Delhi. The area was originally designed by Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker during British colonial rule and was retained by the Government of India after independence.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Parliament House, New Delhi</span> Seat of the Parliament of India

Parliament House, in New Delhi is the seat of the Parliament of India. It houses the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, which are lower and upper houses respectively in India's bicameral parliament.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Third oath of office ceremony of Narendra Modi</span> Oath of office for the first term rule of Narendra Modi

Narendra Modi was inaugurated for the third term as Prime Minister of India on 9 June 2024. The ceremony was held in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 71 other members of the Third Modi ministry took the oath of office.
