The Los Angeles Metro Rail is an urban rail transit system serving Los Angeles County, California, United States, consisting of six lines: four light rail lines and two rapid transit lines, serving a total of 102 stations. The system connects with the Metro Busway bus rapid transit system, the Metrolink commuter rail system, as well as several Amtrak lines. Metro Rail is owned and operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro).

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Aviation/LAX station</span> Light rail station in Los Angeles, California

Aviation/LAX station is an elevated light rail station on the C Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is located over Aviation Boulevard, after which the station is named, near its intersection with Imperial Highway and south of Century Freeway in the Westchester neighborhood of Los Angeles, California and immediately adjacent to the Del Aire neighborhood. It opened as part of the Green Line on August 12, 1995. The station was initially named Aviation Blvd/I-105, but in 2003, it was renamed Aviation/LAX to highlight its proximity to Los Angeles International Airport.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">LRT Line 1 (Metro Manila)</span> Light rail line in Manila

The Light Rail Transit Line 1, commonly referred to as LRT Line 1 or LRT-1, is a light rapid transit system line in Metro Manila, Philippines, operated by Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) and owned by the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) as part of the Manila Light Rail Transit System. Originally referred to as Metrorail and the Yellow Line, LRT Line 1 was reclassified to be the Green Line in 2012. It travels in a general north–south direction from Dr. Santos to Monumento, and then east–west from Monumento to Fernando Poe Jr. Currently, the line consists of 25 stations and runs on 26 kilometers of fully elevated route. Although it has the characteristics of light rail, such as with the type of rolling stock used, it is more akin to a rapid transit system owing to its total grade separation and high passenger throughput.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">LRT Line 2 (Metro Manila)</span> Manila Metro line

The Light Rail Transit Line 2, also known as LRT Line 2, LRT-2, or Megatren, is a rapid transit line in Metro Manila in the Philippines owned and operated by the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA). The line generally runs in an east–west direction between Recto in Manila and Antipolo. The line is officially referred to as the Purple Line.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Istanbul Metro</span> Istanbul railway network

The Istanbul Metro is a rapid transit railway network that serves the city of Istanbul, Turkey. Apart from the M11 line, which is operated by TCDD Taşımacılık, the system is operated by Metro Istanbul, a public enterprise controlled by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The oldest section of the metro is the M1 line, which opened on 3 September, 1989. As of 2024, the system now includes 159 stations in service, with 36 more under construction. With 243.3 kilometers, Istanbul has the 21st longest metro line in the world and the 5th in Europe.

Line M1, officially referred to as the M1 Yenikapı–Atatürk Airport/Kirazlı metro line, also known as the Istanbul Light Metro, is a rapid transit line of the Istanbul Metro. It is colored red on the maps and route signs. Opened in 1989, it was the first rapid transit line in Istanbul and Turkey and its opening started the revival of mass-transit in Turkish cities.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">K Line (Los Angeles Metro)</span> Light rail line in Los Angeles County, California

The K Line is a light rail line in Los Angeles County. It currently consists of two separate noncontiguous segments. The 5.9-mile (9.5 km) northern segment runs north–south between the Jefferson Park and Westchester neighborhoods of Los Angeles, California, passing through various South Los Angeles neighborhoods and the city of Inglewood. The southern segment runs north–south between the Westchester neighborhood of Los Angeles and the city of Redondo Beach. It is one of six lines in the Los Angeles Metro Rail system operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro). The northern segment, the oldest segment of the line, opened on October 7, 2022, making it the system's newest line.

Urban rail transit in India plays an important role in intracity transportation in the major cities which are highly populated. It consists of rapid transit, suburban rail, monorail, and tram systems.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Foothill Extension</span> Light rail extension project in Los Angeles County, California

The Foothill Extension is a construction project extending the light rail A Line, a part of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. The project begins at the former terminus of the former Gold Line at Sierra Madre Villa station in Pasadena and continues east through the "Foothill Cities" of Los Angeles County. The plan's first stage, "Phase 2A", extended the then-Gold Line to APU/Citrus College station in Azusa; it opened on March 5, 2016. The first part of "Phase 2B" will extend the now A Line a further four stations to Pomona–North station on the Metrolink San Bernardino Line in Pomona, broke ground in December 2017 and is planned for completion in early-January 2025. The second part of Phase 2B will further extend the line two stations to Montclair Transcenter in Montclair, located in San Bernardino County, is planned to break ground in spring 2025 and be completed in 2030.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sydney Metro</span> Transit system in Sydney, Australia

Sydney Metro is a fully automated rapid transit rail system in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It currently consists of the Metro North West & Bankstown Line, running between Tallawong and Sydenham and consisting of 21 stations on 52 km (32 mi) of twin tracks, mostly underground. The first stage of the line opened on 26 May 2019, running between Tallawong and Chatswood. This line was extended from Chatswood to Sydenham on 19 August 2024 as part of the first stage of the City & Southwest project. The second stage of the project will then further extend this line to Bankstown as part of a partial conversion of the existing Bankstown railway line with a scheduled completion in 2025.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Klang Valley Integrated Transit System</span> Rail transportation network in the Klang Valley

The Klang Valley Integrated Transit System is an integrated transport network that primarily serves the area of Klang Valley and Greater Kuala Lumpur. The system commenced operations in August 1995 with the introduction of commuter rail service on the existing rail between Kuala Lumpur and Rawang. The system have since expanded and currently consists of 11 fully operating rail lines in a radial formation; two commuter rail lines, six rapid transit lines, one bus rapid transit line and two airport rail links to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport's (KLIA) Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and one temperarily suspended airport rail link to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. The system encompasses 528.4 kilometres (328.3 mi) of grade-separated railway with 197 operational stations.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road metro station</span> Namma Metros Green & Yellow Line interchange station

Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road is an elevated interchange metro station on the North-South corridor of the Green Line and the East-West corridor of the upcoming Yellow Line of Namma Metro serving the 5th and 8th Block of Jayanagar area of Bangalore, India. It was opened to the public on 18 June 2017.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">New Taipei Metro</span> Light rail/rapid transit system in Taiwan

New Taipei Metro is a transit system serving New Taipei, Taiwan, operated by New Taipei Metro Corporation. The Danhai light rail, Ankeng light rail, and Circular line are currently in operation, while the Sanying line is under construction. There are many other lines in various planning stages, such as the Shenkeng light rail. Concurrently, these services are connected to Taipei Metro but operate independently.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Sydney Metro Metropolis Stock</span> Class of train used on Sydney Metro, Australia

The Sydney Metro Metropolis Stock is a class of electric multiple units that operate on the Sydney Metro network. Built by Alstom as part of their Metropolis family, the trains are the first fully automated passenger rolling stock in Australia as well as the first single-deck electric trainsets to operate in Sydney since their withdrawal from the suburban rail network in the 1990s.
