CYP26C1 (cytochrome P450, family 26, subfamily c, polypeptide 1) is a protein which in humans is encoded by the CYP26C1gene. [5]
This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This enzyme is involved in the catabolism of all-trans- and 9-cis-retinoic acid, and thus contributes to the regulation of retinoic acid levels in cells and tissues. [6]
CYP26C1 was found to show no expression in colorectal cancer cells or normal colonic epithelium. [7]
Cytochrome P450 2A6 is a member of the cytochrome P450 mixed-function oxidase system, which is involved in the metabolism of xenobiotics in the body. CYP2A6 is the primary enzyme responsible for the oxidation of nicotine and cotinine. It is also involved in the metabolism of several pharmaceuticals, carcinogens, and a number of coumarin-type alkaloids. CYP2A6 is the only enzyme in the human body that appreciably catalyzes the 7-hydroxylation of coumarin, such that the formation of the product of this reaction, 7-hydroxycoumarin, is used as a probe for CYP2A6 activity.
Cytochrome P450 1B1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CYP1B1 gene.
Cytochrome P450 4B1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CYP4B1 gene.
Adrenal ferredoxin is a protein that in humans is encoded by the FDX1 gene. In addition to the expressed gene at this chromosomal locus (11q22), there are pseudogenes located on chromosomes 20 and 21.
Cytochrome P450 26A1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CYP26A1 gene.
Cytochrome P450 2A13 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CYP2A13 gene.
Cytochrome P450 3A43 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CYP3A43 gene.
Cytochrome P450 2S1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CYP2S1 gene. The gene is located in chromosome 19q13.2 within a cluster including other CYP2 family members such as CYP2A6, CYP2A13, CYP2B6, and CYP2F1.
Cytochrome P450 2F1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CYP2F1 gene.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 family, member A2, also known as ALDH1A2 or retinaldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (RALDH2), is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the ALDH1A2 gene.
Leukotriene-B(4) omega-hydroxylase 2 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the CYP4F3 gene. CYP4F3 encodes two distinct enzymes, CYP4F3A and CYP4F3B, which originate from the alternative splicing of a single pre-mRNA precursor molecule; selection of either isoform is tissue-specific with CYP3F3A being expressed mostly in leukocytes and CYP4F3B mostly in the liver.
Cytochrome P450 26B1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CYP26B1 gene.
CYP39A1 also known as oxysterol 7-α-hydroxylase 2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CYP39A1 gene.
CYP20A1 is a protein which in humans is encoded by the CYP20A1 gene.
CYP8B1 also known as sterol 12-alpha-hydroxylase is a protein which in humans is encoded by the CYP8B1 gene.
CYP4X1 is a protein which in humans is encoded by the CYP4X1 gene.
CYP4F22 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CYP4F22 gene.
CYP4A22 also known as fatty acid omega-hydroxylase is a protein which in humans is encoded by the CYP4A22 gene.
CYP2W1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CYP2W1 gene.
CYP2U1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CYP2U1 gene
