The Central Rural Work Leading Group is a coordination body set up under the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party for the purpose of managing rural affairs.
The central leading group was established in March 1993 by the Central Committee of the CCP. [1]
From 2018, the General Office of the leading group was co-located in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. In mid-2023, the General Office was merged with the Office of the Central Financial and Economic Affairs Commission. [2]
The group is the CCP's leading body on rural and agricultural affairs. [3] [4]
Yuan Chunqing is a retired Chinese politician. He was deputy chief of the Office for Rural Work and the Communist Party Chief of Shanxi province. Prior to that, he was Governor of neighbouring Shaanxi province.
The Central Financial and Economic Affairs Commission is a commission of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party in charge of leading and supervising economic work of both the CCP Central Committee and the State Council. The Commission is generally headed by CCP General Secretary or Premier of the State Council.
Li Dongsheng was a Vice Minister of China's Ministry of Public Security and a member of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. He oversaw the office in charge of suppressing the Falun Gong and other banned spiritual groups. Seen as an associate of Zhou Yongkang, Li was investigated for corruption allegations in 2013 and charged with abuse of power and bribery. In 2016, he was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Previously, he served as Minister of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission; deputy director of the National Supervisory Commission, the highest anti-corruption agency of China; and deputy secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, the party's internal disciplinary body.
Yang Weiguo is a former Chinese politician who spent his entire career in his home-province Hunan. He was investigated by China's top anti-graft agency in January 2022. Previously he served as director of Taiwan Affairs Office of the CCP Hunan Provincial Committee and before that, mayor of Zhuzhou. He was a delegate to the 13th National People's Congress.

The 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) was elected at the 20th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party on 22 October 2022. At its 1st Plenary Session, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection nominated its candidates for secretary, deputy secretaries, secretary-general and other members of the 20th CCDI Standing Committee. These were later approved by the 20th Central Committee at its 1st Plenary Session on 23 October 2022.
