Linares is a small city in the state of Nuevo León, Mexico. The city serves as the administrative centre for the surrounding municipality of the same name and it is the largest urban centre of the so-called "orange belt" region. The city had a 2005 census population of 56,065, while the municipality's population was 71,061. The city and the municipality both rank tenth in population in the state. The municipality has an area of 2,445.2 km² and lies in the east-southeast part of the state on the border with the state of Tamaulipas. The municipality of Hualahuises is an enclave of Linares municipality.

The Barry Way is a partly unsealed alpine road running from Jindabyne southwest to the Victoria border, in New South Wales, Australia, where it becomes the Snowy River Road. It eventually leads to Buchan, a total distance of 170 kilometres with no services or towns. It is sealed for the first 27 kilometres from Jindabyne, passing thru the Moonah and Grosses Plain localities and becoming unsealed at Ingebirah Gap, remaining so through the Ingeegoodbee locality as far as the Victorian border. The road passes through some very remote and unspoilt wilderness in the Australian Alps close to the river. The scenery along the road provides views of the Snowy River valley and the surrounding mountains. There are a number of campsites along the road, from Jacobs River southwards and the road passes the Wallace Craigie Lookout.

Shwebo is a city in Sagaing Region, Burma, 110 km north-west of Mandalay between the Irrawaddy and the Mu rivers. The city was the origin of the Konbaung Dynasty, established by King Alaungpaya in 1752, that was the dominant political force in Burma after the mid-18th century. It served as Alaungpaya's capital from 1752 to 1760. As of 2021, it has a population of 88,914.
