As of 2007, Uzbekistan's overland transportation infrastructure declined significantly in the post-Soviet era due to low investment and poor maintenance. Air transport was the only branch that received substantial government investment in the early 2000s, as airport modernization projects were undertaken. In the following years, improvements have been made to the surface transport network including the construction of the Tashkent–Samarkand high-speed rail line.
Eastern Metropolitan Bypass is a 32 kilometres (20 mi) long six to eight-lane major bypass road on the east side of Kolkata in the Indian state of West Bengal. It connects Ultadanga to Baruipur Puratan Bazar. The road is a major link to Salt Lake and New Town. EM Bypass is part of both State Highway 1 and State Highway 3. Much high-end construction and development in Kolkata has been centered around it.
Steady Brook is a Canadian town in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Located on the west coast of the island of Newfoundland, the town is situated 8 kilometres east of the city of Corner Brook in the lower Humber Valley. Lowgap is an unincorporated community in the Franklin Township of Surry County, North Carolina, United States. Originally settled by the Galyean and Edwards families, Lowgap is named for the "low gap" the community is settled in among the Blue Ridge Mountains. The community is located at an elevation of 1,440 feet. Landmarks near the center of the community include the community post office, the community library housed in the former Lowgap School, fire department, and area churches.
