Visitors to Burundi may obtain a visa on arrival or Online Visa unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries.
Holders of ordinary passports of the following countries may enter Burundi without a visa for up to 3 months:
1 – Also for Economic Community of the Great Lakes Countries laissez-passer holders.
Holders of diplomatic passports of Turkey and diplomatic or service passports of Brazil, [1] China [2] and Russia [3] do not require a visa. Holders of passports for public affairs of China do not require a visa. [2]
A visa exemption agreement was signed with the United Arab Emirates in January 2019, but it has not yet entered into force. [4]
Burundi signed a visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic, service and ordinary passports with Chad on 19 July 2024, and it is yet to enter into force. [5]
Citizens of other countries and territories may obtain a visa on arrival either at Bujumbura International Airport (Melchior Ndadaye) or at all land borders for a maximum stay of 1 month. [6] [7]
Citizens of other countries and territories may also obtain an Online Visa. [8]
Passengers with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country. They must stay in the international transit area of the airport and have documents required for the next destination.
Visitors to Kyrgyzstan must obtain an e-Visa unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries or citizens who may obtain a visa on arrival.
Visitors to Kazakhstan must obtain a visa from one of the Kazakh diplomatic missions unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries or citizens eligible for an e-Visa.
The Government of Namibia allows citizens of specific countries and territories to travel to Namibia for tourism, visiting friends and relatives as well as official purposes for 3 months with an ordinary, diplomatic and service passports without having to obtain a visa. All visitors must have a passport valid for at least 6 months.
Visitors to Serbia must obtain a visa from one of the Serbian diplomatic missions unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries.
Visitors to Belarus must obtain a visa from one of the Belarusian diplomatic missions unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries.
The visa policy of South Africa is how the South African government determines who may and may not enter South Africa. Visitors to South Africa must obtain a visa from one of the South African diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa-exempt countries, in which case they get a "Port of Entry Visa". Visitors who require a visa must apply in person and provide biometric data.
The visa policy of the United Arab Emirates allows citizens of certain countries to enter the United Arab Emirates without a visa. Citizens of certain other countries must obtain a visa from one of the UAE diplomatic missions. Alternatively, they may obtain an online visa through Smart Service or airlines.
Most visitors to Cambodia must obtain a visa, either on arrival or online, unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries.
Most visitors to Iran must obtain an electronic visa (e-Visa) prior to their arrival in Iran, unless they are a citizen of one of the visa-exempt countries or countries that are ineligible for an e-Visa, in which case they must obtain a visa in advance from one of the Iranian diplomatic missions around the world.
Visitors to Tajikistan must obtain a visa unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries, or citizens who may obtain a visa on arrival, or citizens eligible for an e-Visa.
Visitors to São Tomé and Príncipe must obtain a visa online or from one of the diplomatic missions of São Tomé and Príncipe prior to arrival unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries.
Visitors to Tanzania must obtain either a visa on arrival or an e-Visa unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries or citizens who must obtain a visa from one of the Tanzanian diplomatic missions.
Visitors to Cape Verde must obtain a visa to enter, unless they come from one of the visa-exempt countries, which are mostly in Africa, Europe and the Americas. Visa may be obtained in advance from a Cape Verde embassy or consulate, or in person upon arrival at any of the international airports.
Visitors to Burkina Faso must obtain a visa from one of the Burkina Faso diplomatic missions or online, unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries or a country whose citizens may obtain a visa on arrival.
Visitors to Cameroon must obtain an e-Visa unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries.
Visitors to Chad must obtain a visa from one of the Chadian diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries.
Visitors to the Republic of the Congo must obtain a visa from one of the Republic of the Congo diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries or countries that can obtain a visa on arrival.
Any foreign national who wishes to enter Myanmar must obtain a visa unless they are a citizen of one of the designated visa-exempt countries.
Visitors to Ghana must obtain a visa from one of the Ghanaian diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the countries or territories that are either visa exempt or whose citizens may obtain a visa on arrival.
Visitors to Egypt must obtain a visa from one of the Egyptian diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries or countries that are eligible for visa on arrival.
