Visitors to Uzbekistan must obtain a visa from one of the Uzbekistan diplomatic missions or online unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries.

Turkmenistan - residents of Dashoghuz Velayat and Lebap Velayat of Turkmenistan have visa free access to Khorazm Vilayat and Bukhara Vilayat as well as to Amudarya, Khojayli, Shumanay, Qonghirat districts and the Takhiatash city of Karakalpakstan and to Dehkanabad, Guzar, Nishan and Mirishkar districts of Qashqadarya Vilayat and to Sherabad and Muzrabat districts of Surkhandarya Vilayat have visa free access for up to 3 days within any month period. During Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha the access is allowed twice a month, but no more than 7 days. [16]
Visa-free regime also applies to holders of diplomatic passports of Brazil, China, Estonia, Hungary, India (60 days), [17] Kuwait, [18] Poland, South Korea (60 days), Tajikistan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates (90 days) and Vietnam, and also to holders of diplomatic and service passports of Latvia, Romania and Slovakia.
Visa is not required for US military and US Department of Defense civilian staff provided holding a Military/government ID and a copy of their orders.
Holders of a Visa Confirmation (stamp), issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, can obtain a visa on arrival at Tashkent International Airport. [19]
Uzbekistan introduced the system of electronic visas for a period of up to 30 days from 15 July 2018. [20] A single or multiple entry visa is valid for 30 days. The cost of obtaining an e-Visa is 20 USD. Travelers have to apply for the e-Visa for Uzbekistan at least three days in advance before their trip. [21]

Citizens of the following countries and territories do not require a visa for a 5-day stay if they are transiting through the international airports of Uzbekistan. [24] According to the IATA Timatic the outbound flight from Uzbekistan must be on Uzbekistan Airways.
Transit visas are available to all nationalities for a duration of up to 72 hours, for which no invitation letter or tourist voucher is required.
On 2 December 2016 President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree titled "About measures for ensuring the accelerated development of tourist branch of the Republic of Uzbekistan" that envisaged the establishment of a visa-free regime for citizens of 15 countries [25] as well as a visa-free regime for citizens of 12 countries who are older than 55. [26] Those visitors would only be required to pay an entry fee on arrival. This is planned to be in place by 2020.
However, on 22 December 2016 a new decree was adopted by the President of Uzbekistan amending the decree from 2 December 2016, postponing the visa-free regime until 1 January 2021. [27] [28] The amending decree also said that the list of countries whose citizens would benefit from the visa-free access may be revised on the basis of dynamics of development of bilateral relations, the situation on the world tourism market and the current situation in the sphere of international and regional security.
Uzbekistan also plans to introduce electronic visas from 2021. Uzbekistan intends to use the electronic visa system of Azerbaijan as a model. [29]
In December 2017 it was announced that Uzbekistan plans to introduce a simplified procedure for citizens of 25 additional countries and to abolish visas altogether for citizens of Japan, South Korea and Singapore. [30] Visa validity period was extended to 30 days. [31] In January 2018 it was announced that Uzbekistan plans to introduce a simplified procedure for citizens of 40 additional countries and to abolish visas altogether for citizens of five countries. [32]
On 10 February 2018 Uzbekistan abolished visa requirements for 7 countries: Israel, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey. On 16 March 2018 Uzbekistan abolished visa requirements for citizens of Tajikistan and on 5 October 2018 visas were abolished for citizens of France.
In December 2018 it was announced that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan plan to mutually accept visas from February 2019. [33]
In December 2018 it was announced that Uzbekistan plans to expand visa-free access to citizens of additional 22 countries. [34]
In January 2019 visa requirements were removed for nationals of Germany. [5]
In February 2019 citizens of European Union countries, Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, New Zealand, Norway, San Marino, Serbia, Switzerland, Vatican became visa exempt. [6] [35]
In March 2019 Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were reported as "set to launch" a joint visa program that could expand to nearby countries. All approvals are in place with only technical and equipment details to be worked out. [35]
In August 2022 Uzbekistan will exempt the visa requirements for Saudi Arabia for a period of 30 days starting from January 1, 2023. [36] [37]

Tourist activities in Uzbekistan range from outdoor activities, such as rock-climbing, to exploration of its archeological and religious history. The Statistical Internet Survey conducted between May 7 and August 27, 2008, found that the majority of those surveyed (39%) visit Uzbekistan due to interest in its architectural and historical sites. The next-largest group (24%) visited Uzbekistan to observe its culture, way of life, and customs.
The Uzbekistan passport, being the property of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is issued to the citizens of Uzbekistan for international travels. An ordinary international passport can be issued to an infant at birth and must be renewed after 2 years, next one for toddlers renewed after 5 years and later every 10 years. The passport could also be changed in case of damage or when the bearer of the passport changed his/her name.
The visa policy of Russia deals with the requirements which a foreign national wishing to enter the Russian Federation must meet to obtain a visa, which is a permit to travel to, enter, and remain in the country. Visa exemptions are based on bilateral or multilateral agreements.
Visitors to Kyrgyzstan must obtain an e-Visa unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries or citizens who may obtain a visa on arrival.
Visitors to Kazakhstan must obtain a visa from one of the Kazakh diplomatic missions unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries or citizens eligible for an e-Visa.
Visa requirements for Russian citizens are administrative entry restrictions by the authorities of other states placed on citizens of Russia.
Visa requirements for Vietnamese citizens are administrative entry restrictions imposed on citizens of Vietnam by the authorities of other states.
Visa requirements for Turkmen citizens are administrative entry restrictions by the authorities of other states placed on citizens of Turkmenistan. As of 27 April 2023, Turkmen citizens had visa-free or visa on arrival access to 53 countries and territories, ranking the Turkmen passport 93rd in terms of travel freedom according to the Henley Passport Index.
Visa requirements for Nauruan citizens are administrative entry restrictions by the authorities of other states placed on citizens of Nauru. As of 2 July 2019, Nauruan citizens had visa-free or visa on arrival access to 85 countries and territories, ranking the Nauruan passport 61st in terms of travel freedom according to the Henley Passport Index.
Visitors to Belarus must obtain a visa from one of the Belarusian diplomatic missions unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries.
Visitors to Tajikistan must obtain a visa unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries, or citizens who may obtain a visa on arrival, or citizens eligible for an e-Visa.
Visitors to Uruguay must obtain a visa from one of the Uruguayan diplomatic missions unless they come from one of the visa exempt countries.
In accordance with the law, citizens of all countries require a visa to enter Turkmenistan unless they have special passports. To obtain a tourist visa for Turkmenistan, all foreign citizens must supply an invitation letter issued by a travel agency licensed in Turkmenistan.
Citizens of all countries require a visa to visit Afghanistan. The only exemptions are travelers born in Afghanistan, born to Afghan parents or with parents born in Afghanistan.
Visa requirements for Sri Lankan citizens are administrative entry restrictions by the authorities of other states placed on citizens of Sri Lanka.
Visa requirements for South Ossetian citizens are administrative entry restrictions imposed on citizens of South Ossetia by the authorities of other states.
The visa history of Russia deals with the requirements, in different historical epochs, that a foreign national had to meet in order to obtain a visa or entry permit, to enter and stay in the country.
Major General Pavel Ismailovich Ergashev is an Uzbek military leader who is a Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan. He was appointed to this position on 11 January 2018 and was dismissed in March 2021. He is the son of former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Ismail Ergashev. He was among 12 high-ranking officials were banned from entering the European Union for a year in November 2005 for their role in putting down the 2005 Andijan unrest. At the time, he was a Colonel who commanded of a detachment of from the Ministry of Defense. On 4 September 2017, he was appointed by Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the post of Acting Deputy Minister of Defense and commander of the troops of the Southwestern Special Military District.
The Shon-Sharaf Order or the Order of Glory of Service is a state award of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was introduced in August 1995. It comes in two classes. The ribbon comes in blue, red, white and green.
Svetlana Baymirzaevna Artikova( was born on January 1, 1962, in Uchkurgan District, Namangan Region) is a lawyer, public and political figure, senator, and Deputy Chairman of the Senate. Since November 7, 2019, she has been appointed Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
