Robert Arthur was an American motion picture actor who appeared in dozens of films in the 1940s and 1950s.

<i>Twelve OClock High</i> 1949 film by Henry King

Twelve O'Clock High is a 1949 American war film about aircrews in the United States Army's Eighth Air Force who flew daylight bombing missions against Nazi Germany and occupied France during the early days of American involvement in World War II, including a thinly disguised version of the notorious Black Thursday strike against Schweinfurt. The film was adapted by Sy Bartlett, Henry King (uncredited) and Beirne Lay, Jr. from the 1948 novel 12 O'Clock High, also by Bartlett and Lay. It was directed by King and stars Gregory Peck, Hugh Marlowe, Gary Merrill, Millard Mitchell and Dean Jagger.

Ian Collier was a British actor.

Bonnie Bluh, born Helen Celia Bluh, was a Jewish-American feminist novelist and essayist.

Choi Jin-sil South Korean actress

Choi Jin-Sil was a South Korean actress. She was considered one of the best actresses in South Korea, nicknamed "The Nation's Actress". She played leading roles in 18 films and 20 television dramas, appeared in 140 commercials and won the 33rd Grand Bell Award for Best Actress. She committed suicide by hanging on October 2, 2008, at her home in Seoul.

Rob Guest New Zealand actor

Robert John Guest, OBE was a British-born New Zealand-Australian actor, television personality and host and singer, who started his career in pop music in New Zealand, before becoming best known for his work in Australian musical theatre, particularly in various productions of The Phantom of the Opera. He played the lead for a record 2,289 performances over seven years, more than any other performer.

Zulfiqar Ahmed (cricketer, born 1926) Pakistani cricketers

Zulfiqar Ahmed was a former Pakistani cricketer who played in 9 Tests from 1952 to 1956. He was educated at Islamia College, Lahore.

Mahir al-Zubaydi, also known as Abu Assad or Abu Rami, was a military commander in Al-Qaeda in Iraq. Zubaydi is believed to have headed the group that were behind bombings which killed at least 16 people in Baghdad in October 2008. The U.S. military says Zubaydi was a suspect in several other attacks against Iraqis and U.S. forces in past years. Zubaydi also took part in a videotaped killing of four Russian diplomats in June 2006.

Geoffrey Davis was an Australian doctor and director of the International Abortion Research and Training Centre. In the early 1960s Davis had two clinics in the Potts Point and Arncliffe suburbs of Sydney where he carried out discreet terminations up until 1971, when abortion was legalised in New South Wales. Though Davis was originally an anaesthetist, he is known for his work with late term abortions. Davis had worked with Population Services International, the International Fertility Research Program, and International Planned Parenthood Federation in the 1960s. Davis also did research on prior induced abortion.

Harry Bath Australian rugby league player and coach

Harry Bath, born Alfred Henry Bath, also known by the nickname of "The Old Fox", was an Australian rugby league footballer and coach who was prominent and influential in the mid-20th century. A state and international representative who played 12 matches for Other Nationalities in the International Championship from 1949 to 1955, he played as a second-row and has been referred to as the best Australian rugby league player never to be picked for the Australian national team. Following his retirement, Bath coached in the New South Wales Rugby Football League premiership for two decades, also achieving selection as the Australian national team coach.

Albert Edward Pryke "Ted" Briggs MBE was a British seaman and the last survivor of the destruction of the battlecruiser HMS Hood. He remained in the Royal Navy after the Second World War and was later commissioned.

Craig Fertig was an American football player and coach. He was the head football coach at Oregon State University from 1976 to 1979, compiling a record of 10–34–1 (.233) in four seasons.

Ernest Beutler was a German-born American hematologist and biomedical scientist. He made important discoveries about the causes of a number of diseases, including anemias, Gaucher disease, disorders of iron metabolism and Tay–Sachs disease. He was also among the first scientists to identify X-inactivation as the genetic basis of tissue mosaicism in female mammals, and pioneered a number of medical treatments, including bone marrow transplantation techniques. Beutler served as a Professor, then Chairman, of the Department of Molecular and Experimental Medicine at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California from 1979 until 2008.

Kim Chan, also known as Kim S. Chan, was a Chinese-American actor and producer. He was most notable for his roles as Lo Si, a.k.a. The Ancient, in Kung Fu: The Legend Continues and Mr. Kim in The Fifth Element.
