Haryana Space Applications Centre, Hisar (HARSAC), a collaborator of ISRO, is a nodal agency for Remote Sensing and GIS applications of the Government of Haryana. [1] It is located next to Centre for Plant Biotechnology (PCB) within the CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar in the Haryana state of India. It provides various remote sensing applications such as in monitoring agriculture, forestry, water resources, illegal constructions [2] and encroachments, [3] stubble burning [4] and pollution monitoring, [5] and revival of Saraswati river. [6]
It also offers MTech degree in association with GJU Hisar University. [7]
In 2016, environmental activists accused a Senior Scientist of HARSAC for allegedly helping builders in encroaching upon a part of a 27 km long seasonal rivulet in Gurugram, subsequently a departmental inquiry was conducted by the Director of the HARSAC. [8] Another complaint before the Haryana Lokayukta against the HARSAC for allegedly providing favourable reports to the financial interests of unauthorised was disposed off after it was taken back by the complainant. [8]

The Indian Space Research Organisation is India's national space agency. It serves as the principal research and development arm of the Department of Space (DoS), overseen by the Prime Minister of India, with the Chairman of ISRO also serving as the chief executive of the DoS. It is primarily responsible for space-based operations, space exploration, international space cooperation and the development of related technologies. Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University is a public funded agricultural university located at Hisar in the Indian state of Haryana. It is the biggest agricultural university in Asia. The university has 8,645 acres (3,499 ha) of land. It is named after India's fifth Prime Minister, Chaudhary Charan Singh. The Government of India awarded him the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award, in 1999.
Hisar Airport, officially known as Maharaja Agrasen International Airport is a DGCA-licensed public airport serving Hisar in Haryana state of India. It is located 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) northeast of the city center on NH-9. The airport is planned to be upgraded to an international airport by 2030. It will eventually see the development of a new MRO, aerospace university, aerospace and defense manufacturing industrial zone, logistics and food parks, etc. over an area spread across 10,000 acres (4,000 ha). In 2021, the total cost of planned upgrade in 3 phases, including the actual spend and future approved allocations, is nearly ₹5,200 crore.
The Cartosat is a series of Indian optical Earth observation satellites built and operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). The Cartosat series is a part of the Indian Remote Sensing Program. They are used for Earth's resource management, defence services and monitoring.
Forests Department, Haryana is a department of the Government of Haryana, a state in India, that runs and maintains many protected nature areas in the state of Haryana. It has two administrative divisions: Forest and Wildlife. The department is responsible for maintaining National Parks, Wildlife Sanctuaries and Conservation Reserves in Haryana. Tapan Misra is an Indian scientist who has been the Director of Space Applications Centre and Physical Research Laboratory in ISRO. He later became Senior Advisor to the Chairman, ISRO.
Adi Badri, also Sri Sarasvati Udgam Tirath, is a tourist site of archaeological, religious and ecological significance in a forest area in the foothills of the Sivalik Hills in Bhabar area, situated in northern part of Yamunanagar district, of the north Indian state of Haryana. There are remains of many Buddhist stupas and monasteries, which are about 1500–2000 years old, and there is also a group of Hindu temples from the 9th century. Based on the multiple archaeological excavations undertaken here, archaeologists have sent the proposal to Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to include this site in the list of protected heritage site. Several popular annual festivals are held here, including the five day long National Saraswati Festival in January, Adi Badri Akha Teej Mela in Vaisakh around April–May, week-long Adi Badri-Kapal Mochan Kartik Purnima religious mela around November.
