The 23rd Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate.^[3] Located in northwest Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Chippewa County and most of Clark County, as well as eastern Eau Claire County, eastern Dunn County, western Marathon County, and parts of northwest Jackson County and northeast Trempealeau County. The district is mostly rural, but contains the city of Chippewa Falls, most of the city of Marshfield, and part of the city of Eau Claire.^[4]

Current elected officials

Kathy Bernier is the senator representing the 23rd district. She was first elected to the Senate in the 2018 general election. Before serving as a senator, she was a member of the State Assembly from 2011 to 2019.^[5]

Each Wisconsin State Senate district is composed of three Wisconsin State Assembly districts. The 23rd Senate district comprises the 67th, 68th, and 69th Assembly districts. The current representatives of those districts are:

Assembly District 67: Rob Summerfield (R– Bloomer)
Assembly District 68: Jesse L. James (R– Altoona)
Assembly District 69: Bob Kulp (R– Marshfield)

The 23rd Senate district crosses two congressional districts. The portion of the district in Dunn County, Eau Claire County, Trempealeau County, southern Chippewa County, and part of northwest Jackson County fall within Wisconsin's 3rd congressional district, which is represented by U.S. Representative Ron Kind; the remainder of the district in northwest Jackson County, the remainder of Chippewa County, and the portions of the district in Clark, Wood, and Marathon counties falls within Wisconsin's 7th congressional district, which is represented by U.S. Representative Tom Tiffany.^[6]

The district area is a mostly rural, and covers more land and more counties than any other district in Wisconsin.

The 8th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district comprises northeastern Milwaukee County, southern Ozaukee County, southern Washington County, and northeastern Waukesha County.

The 10th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in northwest Wisconsin, the district comprises most of Polk and St. Croix counties, as well as the western half of Burnett County, parts of western and central Dunn County, and part of northern Pierce County. The district includes the cities of Hudson, Menomonie, New Richmond, River Falls, and St. Croix Falls.

The 12th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in northern Wisconsin, the district comprises Florence, Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Menominee, and Oneida counties, and most of Marinette, Oconto, and Vilas counties, as well as parts of northern Marathon County and Shawano County.

The 31st District of the Wisconsin Senate is located in central Wisconsin, and is currently composed of parts of Buffalo, Trempealeau, Pierce, Pepin, Dunn, Eau Claire, Clark, Monroe and Jackson counties.

The 14th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in central Wisconsin, the district comprises Green Lake and Marquette counties, and most of Columbia and Waupaca counties, as well as the southern half of Adams County, the eastern half of Waushara County, northwest Dodge County, western Fond du Lac County and parts of northeast Sauk County, northern Dane County, and western Outagamie County.

The 15th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southern Wisconsin, the district comprises western Rock County, southeast Green County, and parts of southeast Dane County, Southwest Jefferson County, and northwest Walworth County. It includes most of the city of Janesville and the western part of the city of Beloit, as well as the cities of Brodhead, Edgerton, Evansville, Milton, and Whitewater.

The 17th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southwest Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Grant, Lafayette, Juneau, and Richland counties, as well as western Sauk County, western Iowa County southwest Green County, and parts of eastern Vernon County and southeast Monroe County.

The 21st Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, the district comprises most of Kenosha and Racine counties. Located in Northwestern Wisconsin, the district comprises the eastern half of Eau Claire County and part of southern Chippewa County, including the part of the city of Eau Claire located in Chippewa County, as well as most of the western half of Clark County and neighboring municipalities in northwest Jackson County and northeast Trempealeau County. The seat is held by Republican Jesse L. James since January 2019.

The 69th Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in North-central Wisconsin, the district comprises the eastern half of Clark County and additional municipalities from the southern half of the county, as well as neighboring municipalities in southwest Marathon County and northwest Wood County, including most of the city of Marshfield. The seat is held by Republican Donna Rozar since January 2021.

The 93rd Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in western Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Pepin County and almost all of Pierce County, as well as parts of western Eau Claire County, southern Dunn County, and northwest Buffalo County. The seat is held by Republican Warren Petryk since January 2011.
