2010 United States Virgin Islands general election

The United States Virgin Islands general election was held on November 2, 2010. Voters chose the Governor of the United States Virgin Islands, the non-voting delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives and all fifteen seats in the Legislature of the Virgin Islands. The election coincided with the 2010 United States general election.

Governor

Incumbent Democratic Governor John de Jongh and Lt. Governor Gregory Francis was re-elected for a second term in office, and defeated independent gubernatorial candidate and former Lt. Governor Kenneth Mapp and his running mate, Malik Sekou, with almost 57% of the vote. [1]

U.S. House of Representatives

Incumbent U.S. Virgin Islands Delegate Donna Christian-Christensen, a Democrat, sought re-election. [2] She faced Republican Vincent Emile Danet and independent candidates Guillaume Mimoun and Jeffrey Baxter Christian. Christian-Christansen won the general election with 71.22% of the vote.

Legislature of the Virgin Islands

All fifteen seats in the Legislature of the Virgin Islands were up for election.

John de Jongh Jr.

John Percy de Jongh Jr. is an American businessman and politician who served as the seventh elected Governor of the United States Virgin Islands. He has been active in Virgin Islands politics and the business community since returning to St. Thomas after graduating from college in 1981. De Jongh has been involved in community development, commercial banking, served on the boards of business and philanthropic organizations, appointed to government positions and elected to public office.

Juan Francisco Luis was a U.S. Virgin Islander politician who served as the third elected Governor of the United States Virgin Islands. He is the territory's 23rd governor overall. Luis assumed the governorship on January 2, 1978, succeeding Governor Cyril King, who died in office. He held the governor's office from 1978 until 1987, becoming the longest-serving governor in the history of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The 2014 U.S. Virgin Islands gubernatorial election took place on November 4, 2014, to elect the Governor of the United States Virgin Islands. Incumbent Democratic Governor John de Jongh is term-limited and cannot run for re-election to a third term in office. Since no candidate received a majority in the general election, as required by the Revised Organic Act of the Virgin Islands, a runoff was held between Donna Christian-Christensen and Kenneth Mapp, the two top vote receivers. Mapp went on to win the run off in a landslide victory, with almost 64% of the vote.

2018 Guamanian gubernatorial election

The 2018 Guam gubernatorial election took place on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, to elect the Governor of Guam. Incumbent Republican Governor Eddie Baza Calvo was ineligible for re-election, after his win in 2014, since Guam does not allow governors more than two consecutive terms. The Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Guam are elected on the same ticket. Five candidates officially declared their bids. After the August 25 primaries, the Republican party nominated Lieutenant Governor Ray Tenorio, while the Democratic party nominated former territorial senator Lou Leon Guerrero. Democratic primary second-placer Frank Aguon Jr. initiated a write-in campaign in hopes of becoming Guam's first write-in elected governor.
