Description

Helen Bernhard Bakery operates in a converted house at the intersection of 17th and Broadway, [1] [2] in northeast Portland's Irvington neighborhood. The bakery has served apple fritters, [3] cinnamon rolls, muffins, [4] cakes and cake doughnuts, sugar cookies, [5] sourdough, [6] and other pastries. [7] The bakery has sold king cake for Mardi Gras, [8] pumpkin cake for Halloween, [9] and decorated sugar shortbread cookies during the holiday season. [10]

History

The bakery was established in 1924. [11] [12] Mike and Kellie Snaadt owned the business in 2020. [13]
