Fodor's says the business "serves small-batch, house-roasted coffee in a variety of formats, from Chemex to Aeropress to crowds of regulars". [2] [3] [4] In her Moon-published guide book for the Pacific Northwest, Allison Williams wrote, "Unlike the very hip Stumptown, Case Study Coffee is more about the café vibe." She said the business sold bagels, granola, and pastries, in addition to coffee. [5]
The business is owned by spouses Wes Russell and Christine Herman. The first store opened on Sandy Boulevard in northeast Portland's Rose City Park neighborhood. The Dime Store was a short-lived restaurant in Portland, Oregon, in the United States. It was established by Dayna McErlean, with additional conceptual development from Jeremy Larter. The restaurant opened in 2014, replacing Leo's Non-Smoking Coffee Shop, a diner which had operated for thirty years. The Dime Store's menu included diner classics such as burgers and milkshakes, along with all-day breakfast and weekend brunch specials. Despite receiving a positive critical reception, the restaurant closed in November 2015.
