Edler is an unincorporated community in Baca County, Colorado, United States. [1]
Edler was named for Dr. Edler, one of the first homesteaders in the community. [2]
Edler's post office was established in 1916. [3] Edler was two miles northwest of Holmes City. [4]
In the 1920s, Edler had two mercantiles and a blacksmith shop. [5] The Edler area was noted for its dairy industry, and two cream stations had been established in Edler. [6]
In the 1930s, the community of Edler was the location of several petroleum test sites. [7] In 1936, William A. Arbuthnot organized the Edler Grange. The Edler Grange was #426. [8]
In 1940, Edler's population was 24. [9] The Edler post office, which had operated in the community for more than 30 years, closed in 1948. [3]
By the 1950s, there was a school and bus barn and the Edler Community Church. [5] Edler's population was 30 in 1960. [10]
By the 1990s, Edler was stated to be "surrounded by sand sagebrush, yucca, blue grama, buffalo grass, side-oats grama, and red threeawn. The population is 25." [11]
Edler is located within the Comanche National Grassland in southern Baca County. [11] It is located at the junction of County Road P and County Road 17.
The Town of Crestone is a Statutory Town in Saguache County, Colorado. According to the 2020 United States Census, the town's population was 141. Crestone is located at the foot of the western slope of the Sangre de Cristo Range, in the northern part of the San Luis Valley. Crestone was platted in 1880 by George Adams, owner of the neighboring Luis Maria Baca Grant No. 4. In the 1970s, the Baca Grande land development was established on the lands of the Baca Grant to the south and west. Several hundred homes have been built there.

As of the 2020 census, the population was 496, making it the least populous county in Montana and the eighth-least populous in the United States. Its county seat is Winnett. The county's area was partitioned from Fergus County in 1925 to become the last of Montana's 56 counties to be organized.
Cuthbert is a ghost town in Mitchell County, Texas, United States. Cuthbert was established in 1890 when the founder D. T. Bozeman built a wagon yard and store. The community and post office were named for Thomas Cuthbertson, a family friend of the Bozemans. By the early 1920s, Cuthbert had a church, two stores, a blacksmith shop, a cotton gin, telephone office, and a school. In 1920, the T. and P. Abrams No. 1 oil well, one of the first commercial oil ventures in the Permian Basin, was drilled just over a mile north of the town. A post office, two businesses, and a population of twenty-five were reported at the community in 1936, the year that its school was consolidated with that of Colorado City. After World War II, the improvement of rural roads in the area led to Cuthbert's decline as it lost its trade to Colorado City. The Cuthbert post office was discontinued circa 1960, when the town reported one business and a population of twenty-five. By 1974, only a cemetery and scattered farms remained in the area.

In its early years, the community was the site of one of the few bridges across the Iowa River in Hardin County. By the mid-20th century, however, the community had lost its school, mill, post office, and businesses, and Secor was considered a ghost town.
