Mabscott is a town in Raleigh County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 1,333 at the 2020 census. [3] The town's name is a contraction of the name Mabel Scott, wife of local coal operator Cyrus H. Scott. [5] [6]

The racial makeup of the town was 91.8% White, 5.1% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.1% Asian, 0.1% from other races, and 2.7% from two or more races. The average household size was 2.43 and the average family size was 2.85.
The median age in the town was 42 years. 23.9% of residents were under the age of 18; 7.6% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 22.5% were from 25 to 44; 31.1% were from 45 to 64; and 15.1% were 65 or older. The gender makeup of the town was 46.2% male and 53.8% female.
