List of Missouri high schools by athletic conferences

The following lists Missouri high schools and the athletic conferences in which they compete. [1] Under the current system used by the Missouri State High School Activities Association some conference member teams may also compete in the same playoff district while others are in districts with non-conference members. As a general rule most conferences contain schools within their region and of similar class size, the class based on school enrollment.

The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level, headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. Its fourteen member institutions, of which all but one are public schools, are located in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma, with an Arkansas school joining in July 2024. The MIAA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in Missouri.

NCAA Division III independent schools are four-year institutions that compete in college athletics at the NCAA Division III level, but do not belong to an established athletic conference for a particular sport. These schools may however still compete as members of an athletic conference in other sports. A school may also be fully independent, and not belong to any athletic conference for any sport at all. The reason for independent status varies among institutions, but it is frequently because the school's primary athletic conference does not sponsor a particular sport.

The Summit League, or The Summit, is an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic conference with its membership mostly located in the Midwestern United States, from Minnesota in the east, to the Dakotas, Nebraska and Colorado to the West, and Missouri and Oklahoma to the South. Founded as the Association of Mid-Continent Universities in 1982, it rebranded as the Mid-Continent Conference in 1989, then again as the Summit League on June 1, 2007. The league headquarters are in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) is the governing body for high school activities throughout the state of Missouri. Approximately 580 high schools are members of MSHSAA.

Richmond High School, located in Richmond, Ray County, Missouri, United States is the high school for the Richmond R-XVI School District. Students from Camden, Henrietta, Knoxville, Millville, Rayville and Richmond attend the school. The Richmond community is the county seat of Ray County, about 30 miles east of Kansas City, Missouri, and just north of the Missouri River. The county is agricultural and business oriented, with many services, churches, banks, and a thriving downtown square featuring a historic courthouse. Richmond High was built in its present location in 1984. The previous location is currently the Richmond City Hall. RHS is a comprehensive high school with approximately 420 students in four grades. There are approximately 40 faculty members. Students followed a traditional seven-period day, with Wednesdays having an 'Advisement' period added up until the end of the 2019-2020 school year. Beginning in the 2020-2021 year, the schedule was formatted to an eight-period day, with the 'Advisement' period becoming a class itself.

The Platte Valley Conference (PVC) was a northwest Missouri-based athletic conference that featured exclusively small, primarily rural schools that are member institutions of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA). This conference was considered one of the stronger sports leagues in class 1 of Missouri sports. It disbanded in 2016 when it merged with the 275 Conference.

The North division includes schools with smaller enrollment, the Central division for medium enrollment schools, and the South division for larger enrollment schools. The Show-Me Conference is a high school athletic conference composed of schools in central Missouri. The conference comprises smaller to mid-size schools in Class 1, 2, and 3.

Center High School is a public high school in Kansas City, Missouri. It is the only high school within the Center School District.

The Gasconade Valley Conference is a high school athletic conference comprising small-size high schools located in eastern central Missouri. The conference members are located in Crawford, Iron, and Maries counties.
