Jon B. Erpenbach is an American politician that served as a Democratic member of the Wisconsin Senate, representing the 27th District from 1999 to 2023.
Wisconsin's 2nd congressional district is a congressional district of the United States House of Representatives in southern Wisconsin, covering Dane County, Iowa County, Lafayette County, Sauk County and Green County, as well as portions of Richland County and Rock County. The district includes Madison, the state's capital, its suburbs and some of the surrounding areas. Like many districts anchored by a college town, the district is heavily Democratic, and includes the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The district also contains landmarks such as Devil's Lake State Park, Dane County Regional Airport, Mirror Lake State Park, Lake Wisconsin and the Kilbourn Dam.

Located in south-central Wisconsin, the district comprises much of eastern Dane County, western Jefferson County, and part of southwest Dodge County. It includes the cities of Fitchburg, Fort Atkinson, Lake Mills, Stoughton, Sun Prairie, and Waterloo, and the villages of Cottage Grove, Deerfield, and Marshall, and parts of the city of Madison and the village of McFarland. It also contains Lake Kegonsa State Park and msot of Lake Koshkonong.

It contains landmarks such as College Avenue Historic District, Lawrence University, and the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh campus.

Located in west-central Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Jackson County, most of Juneau County, most of northern Adams County, eastern and northern Monroe County, southern Wood County, and central and southwest Portage County. It contains the cities of Black River Falls, Stevens Point, Tomah, and Wisconsin Rapids, and the U.S. Army base Fort McCoy.

Located in south-central Wisconsin, the district comprises of Downtown Madison, Wisconsin as well as most of the city's near west, south, east and north sides. The 26th also includes the suburban cities of Monona, the villages of Maple Bluff and Shorewood Hills, and most of the village of McFarland, in central Dane County. The district contains landmarks such as the Wisconsin State Capitol, the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus, the University of Wisconsin Arboretum, historic Forest Hill Cemetery, Edgewood College, Monona Terrace, Camp Randall Stadium, and the Kohl Center.

It occurred concurrently with elections to the United States Senate in other states and elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections.

She is the minority leader of the Wisconsin Senate since December 2023; she has been a member of the Senate since January 2023, representing Wisconsin's 27th Senate district. She previously served ten years in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 79th Assembly district from 2013 through 2022.

Located in south-central Wisconsin, the district is entirely contained within the city of Madison, in central Dane County. The district comprises much of the west side of the city of Madison. The district is represented by Democrat Alex Joers, since January 2023. After the 2024 redistricting, Joers no longer resides in the new 79th district.

The 81st Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in south-central Wisconsin, the district comprises the northwest corner of Dane County, including northwestern suburban and exurban Madison. It includes the city of Middleton and the villages of Black Earth, Dane, Mazomanie, and Waunakee. The 81st district also contains two wards on the far north side of the city of Madison which include the Cherokee Park, Sherman Village, North Lake Mendota, Lerdahl Park and Whitetail Ridge neighborhoods. The district also contains Governor Nelson State Park, Mendota Mental Health Institute and Middleton Municipal Airport. The district has been represented by Democrat Dave Considine since January 2015. As of the 2024 redistricting Considine no longer lives within the 81st district.
The 2022 Wisconsin Senate elections were held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Seventeen of the 33 seats in the Wisconsin State Senate were up for election—the odd-numbered districts. This was the first election to take place after redistricting following the 2020 United States census. Before the election, 21 Senate seats were held by Republicans and 12 seats were held by Democrats. 11 Republican seats and 6 Democratic seats were up in this election. The primary election took place on August 9, 2022.

He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin's 79th Assembly district since January 2023. He is also currently a member of the Dane County board of supervisors.
