The 27th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin Senate. [1] Located in south-central Wisconsin, the district comprises most of the northwest quadrant of Dane County. It includes much of the west side of the city of Madison, as well as portions of Madison's far north side. The 27th also includes the suburban cities of Middleton and Verona, and the villages of Black Earth, Cross Plains, Dane, Mazomanie, and Waunakee. [2]

Dianne Hesselbein is the senator representing the 27th district since January 2023. She previously served ten years in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 79th district. [3]

The 81st Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in south-central Wisconsin, the district comprises the northwest corner of Dane County, including northwestern suburban and exurban Madison. It includes the city of Middleton and the villages of Black Earth, Dane, Mazomanie, and Waunakee. The 81st district also contains two wards on the far north side of the city of Madison which include the Cherokee Park, Sherman Village, North Lake Mendota, Lerdahl Park and Whitetail Ridge neighborhoods. The district also contains Governor Nelson State Park, Mendota Mental Health Institute and Middleton Municipal Airport. The district has been represented by Democrat Dave Considine since January 2015. As of the 2024 redistricting Considine no longer lives within the 81st district.

The 2022 Wisconsin Senate elections were held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Seventeen of the 33 seats in the Wisconsin State Senate were up for election—the odd-numbered districts. This was the first election to take place after redistricting following the 2020 United States census. Before the election, 21 Senate seats were held by Republicans and 12 seats were held by Democrats. 11 Republican seats and 6 Democratic seats were up in this election. The primary election took place on August 9, 2022.

Alex Robert Joers is an American communications professional and Democratic politician from Dane County, Wisconsin. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin's 79th Assembly district since January 2023. He is also currently a member of the Dane County board of supervisors.
