This is a list of mosques in Indonesia. The Indonesian term Masjid Agung is translated as "Great Mosque", while Masjid Raya is translated as "Grand Mosque." Masjid Keramat is translated as "Holy Mosque." Masjid Jami is translated as Jami Mosque which refers to the congregational mosque where the weekly Friday prayer takes place. These lists only include notable mosques.
As of 2020, a government team led by Fakhry Affan has registered 554,152 mosques in Indonesia. This consists of 258,958 congregational mosques and 295,194 small mosques which fit 40 people or fewer. The government estimates total number of mosques at more than 740,000 nationwide. [1] To be included in this list, the mosque has to be a landmark of a particular region and historically notable.
Below is a list of large mosques of Indonesia. To be listed here, the building capacity has to accommodate at least 15,000 people.

Palangka Raya is the capital and largest city of the Indonesian province of Central Kalimantan. The city is situated between the Kahayan and the Sabangau rivers on the island of Borneo. As of the 2020 census, the city has a population of 293,500; the official estimate as at mid 2024 was 310,182. Before Banten province was formed in 2000, Serang city was part of West Java province.

Grand Mosque of Medan or Masjid Raya Al-Mashun is a mosque located in Medan, Indonesia. The mosque was built in the year 1906 and completed in 1909. In beginning of its establishment, the mosque was a part of the Maimun palace complex. Its architectural style combines Middle Eastern, Indian, and Spanish elements. The mosque has an octagonal shape and has wings to the south, east, north, and west.
Masjid Jami' Al-Makmur Cikini is located on Jalan Raden Saleh Raya in Cikini, Central Jakarta, and is one of the oldest mosques in the locality. It was formerly known as Tjikini Mosque.

Al-Azhar Great Mosque is a mosque located in Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta. The mosque was constructed between 1953 and 1958. It was originally known simply as Mesjid Agung. It was Jakarta's largest mosque when it was built until it was surpassed by the Istiqlal Mosque, which was completed in 1978. Al-Azhar mosque and its complex are best known for their educational works.
The Great Mosque of Malang is a mosque located in Malang, East Java, Indonesia. The mosque was built in 1890 and completed in 1903. The mosque is square-shaped, constructed with steel, and has a tajug on top. The original building is still maintained today.
Al-Markaz Al-Islami Mosque is a mosque located in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The construction begun in 1994 and the mosque was completed in 1996. With maximum capacity of 10,000 pilgrims, building area of 6,932 m2, and site area of 10,000 m2, it serves as one of the biggest centers of Islamic religious activity in Southeast Asia. The building has three floors and made of granite stones, and it faces Masjid Raya Makassar street.
