Rajiv Gandhi Education City is a planned education city in Sonipat in the Indian state of Haryana. The city comes under the National Capital Region, Delhi and also under the Municipal Corporation and Urban Agglomeration of Sonipat City. It is planned to host at least 13 educational institutions including universities, medical colleges and engineering colleges. The park is planned to cover 2,026 acres and foundation stones were laid in June 2012. [2] [3]

Technopark

On 4 April 2018, the newly built Technopark costing INR175 crore was unveiled by the Chief Minister of Haryana at the Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Sonipat. It is aimed at boosting the technical skills, dissemination and expansion of technical skills in the state. [14]

Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology is a Govt. of India established (1989) deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 for higher education and research in India. The UG Program of SLIET is accredited as TIER 1 by the NBA. It is well known as the "Modern Gurukul" of Tech Education due to lush green campus of 451 acres (183 ha) in Longowal, Sangrur, Punjab, India. SLIET is fully funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, and is an autonomous body controlled by the SLIET Society. Institute has been set up in the memory of Late Sh. Harchand Singh ji Longowal under Rajiv Longowal Punjab accord. Educational opportunities include technical and practical training in the fields of engineering and technology. The students and alumni of SLIET are informally referred to as SLIETians.

The university was established in 2018 through The Haryana Private Universities Act 2017 following the passing of the Bill in October 2017. It claims to be "India's first and only university dedicated to education in the creative domain".

The JRF or JRF Junior Research Fellow is a letter awarded by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to the candidates who qualify in the National Eligibility Test securing marks equal/higher than the set cut off for JRF in the particular subject in which the candidate has taken the UGC NET Exam. JRF letter is a bearer document that signifies you can avail of the scholarship while pursuing M.Phil./Ph.D. However, the candidate must note that qualifying UGC NET JRF does not bestow a fellowship upon the candidate.
