Corton was a New French cuisine restaurant located at 239 West Broadway (between Walker Street and White Street) in Tribeca, Manhattan, in New York City run by chef Paul Liebrandt and restaurateur Drew Nieporent. [1] [2]
It opened in 2008 on the site of Montrachet, a restaurant Nieporent had opened in 1985. [3] It held two stars in the New York City Michelin Guide. [4] It closed in July 2013 when Chef Liebrandt left to open The Elm in Brooklyn.[ citation needed ] The restaurant is featured in the 2011 documentary A Matter of Taste .[ citation needed ]
In 2013, Zagats gave it a food rating of 26, and a decor rating of 24. [1] Corton maintained 3 stars from The New York Times and has been named the 2nd Best Restaurant in New York City by GQ Magazine.[ citation needed ]
Thomas Aloysius Keller is an American chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author. He and his landmark Napa Valley restaurant, The French Laundry in Yountville, California, have won multiple awards from the James Beard Foundation, notably the Best California Chef in 1996, and the Best Chef in America in 1997. The restaurant was a perennial winner in the annual Restaurant list of the Top 50 Restaurants of the World; the voting process has since been changed to disallow previous winners from being considered.

Justin Bogle is an American Chef. He was the executive chef at Gilt restaurant in New York. In 2009, Bogle became the youngest American chef, at age 28, to earn two Michelin stars. Bogle has been described as a quiet, but equally talented version of chef Paul Liebrandt of Corton.
