Frenchette is a restaurant in Tribeca, Manhattan, New York City, which opened in April 2018. It won the James Beard Foundation Award [1] as Best New Restaurant in 2019. [2] [3] It is owned by chefs Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson and is named for David Johansen's 1978 song "Frenchette". [4] The menu includes a mix of modern and traditional French with dishes like escargots, tortilla espanola, and spaghetti with shaved bottarga. [5] [6]
Nasr and Hanson worked together since 1997 [7] at Keith McNally's restaurants, [8] Balthazar, Pastis, and Minetta Tavern, [9] before opening Frenchette. [10]
Pete Wells placed Frenchette in fifty-seventh place in his 2023 ranking of the hundred best restaurants in New York City. [11]
Benu is the first restaurant in San Francisco to have received Three Michelin Stars. Located in the SoMa district, Benu was opened in 2010 by chef Corey Lee, the former Chef de Cuisine at the French Laundry.

Kim's original “Korean Steakhouse” concept combines Korean barbecue with an American steakhouse experience and was inspired by his dual nationalities. Crain’s New York named Kim as one of their “40 Under 40” business leaders in 2019.
