The Pullinger Kop Park was named after Edward Pullinger,a mining magnate who built his home at the top of the hill (kop) in 1890.
Pullinger Kop Park is in the Berea District of Johannesburg,situated on Primrose Terrace,just a block west of the Ponte City Apartments Building.
The Park was opened in 1956 when a plaque to commemorate Olive Schreiner was unveiled. Olive E.A. Shreiner was a well known South African novelist,political pamphleteer,feminist and public figure. [2]
Featuring a basketball court and children's play area as well as open green spaces interspersed with trees,the park is for recreation and leisure use within an otherwise densely populated urban area.
The Waterfall Embankment Artwork in Pullinger Kop Park was a community public arts project led by artist Andrew Lindsay initially in 1990 and then reworked in 2008. Andrew Lindsay runs the Spaza Art Gallery in Troyeville and has been involved in a number of public arts projects in South Africa. The Waterfall was initially depicted in mirror and blue tiles,to visually recreate the man-made waterfall that used to flow down the small cliff. In the second version,the waterfall was created in mosaic tiles and featured various insects and creatures.
As an extension to the Waterfall Embankment,in 2009,Andrew Lindsay and Spaza Art re-worked the pedestrian bridge originally built by the Parks Department over Nugget Street in 1986. The Windybrow Bridge links the Pullinger Kop Park and the Ekhaya Park and is a pedestrian gateway into Hillbrow via Nugget Street.
Unfortunately,in recent years Pullinger Kop Park has fallen into a state of neglect and there are anti-social issues blighting the park which have reduced its use as an outdoor community amenity space.

Built in 1890,the 2,376-foot-long (724 m) Walnut Street Bridge connects Chattanooga,Tennessee's downtown with North Chattanooga. The bridge's main spans are pin-connected Pennsylvania through truss spans. The top chord of these truss spans are configured in five sections,making the spans similar to the Camelback truss design. The bridge is historically significant as an extremely long and old example of its type;according to the Historic American Engineering Record:"The bridge was apparently the first non-military highway bridge across the Tennessee River."

The Bull of the Woods Wilderness is a wilderness area located in the Mount Hood National Forest in the northwestern Cascades of Oregon,United States. It was created in 1984 and consists of 37,607 acres (15,219 ha) including prime low-elevation old-growth forest,about a dozen lakes of at least 1-acre (4,000 m2) and many large creeks and streams. Adjacent areas,including Opal Creek Wilderness to the west,create a pristine area of nearly 84 square miles (218 km2). There are seven trails that access the wilderness area with an additional seven trails within the protection boundaries themselves. Combined the system provides 75 miles (121 km) of challenging terrain for both pedestrian and equestrian recreation. The name of the peak and thus the wilderness area comes from logging jargon in which the "bull of the woods" was the most experienced logging foreman in an operation.

The East River Greenway is an approximately 9.44-mile-long (15.19 km) foreshoreway for walking or cycling on the east side of the island of Manhattan on the East River. It is part of the Manhattan Waterfront Greenway. The largest portions are operated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. It is separated from motor traffic,and many sections also separate pedestrians from cyclists. The greenway is parallel to the Franklin D. Roosevelt East River Drive for a majority of its length.

The Wilds is an inner city park and nature reserve in the suburb of Houghton,in the city of Johannesburg,South Africa. The park consists of 16 hectares of indigenous vegetation on the sides of two rocky koppies or hills with views of the city of Johannesburg and its suburbs. Through the 1990s the park gained a reputation for being highly dangerous and crime ridden,however,it is becoming increasingly popular again largely due to the efforts of volunteers.
