Parkview Senior Primary School is a primary school in the Parkview suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. It offers grades 4 through 7.
The school opened on 10 April 1917 as Parkview Government Schoolm with 19 children, one teacher, and acting headmistress Mrs. Endly. The wood and iron building consisted of two rooms on the site of the present Parkview Junior School. Three months after the school opened, Miss G.E Lance was appointed principal. School attendance in the years that followed was greatly affected by epidemics such as Spanish influenza and scarlet fever, as well as by a number of strikes.
By 1919 the school had three teachers and 78 pupils. By 1920, enrolment had risen to 100, but there was only accommodation for 65 pupils. For the next thirty years, the increase in enrolment outstripped the provision of additional classrooms. By 1925 there were 245 pupils. Major renovations increased the number of classrooms, but classes remained large, with 52 pupils in a class.
On 26 July 1932 the school was divided into a junior primary school, on the old site in Ennis Road, and a senior school on a new site surrounded by Dundalk Avenue, Dee Road and Donegal Avenue. The Administrator of the Transvaal, J.S. Smit, officially opened the school on 17 September 1932.
