Houghton Heights is an apartment located in the Houghton estates of Northern Johannesburg. [1] It was designed by John Shaw in 1938. Houghton Heights is one of a number of imposing Art Deco buildings to have been built on the Orange Grove escarpment. Its design uses alternating red and orange bricks with richly decorated marbles. Originally part of the main road between central Johannesburg and Pretoria, it runs along through the north-eastern parts of the city from Hillbrow to Sandton, passing through numerous older suburbs, including Houghton and Orange Grove, before it becomes the Pretoria Main Road (R101) which passes the Alexandra Township and continues to Midrand and Pretoria.

Crystal Heights was a design by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright for a hotel, apartment, and shopping complex in Washington, D.C. The project would have been built on one of the largest remaining undeveloped tracts in the city, known as the Oak Lawn estate or Temple Heights, on the edge of the Adams Morgan and Dupont Circle neighborhoods. The site was bounded by 19th Street, Columbia Road, Connecticut Avenue, and Florida Avenue, all in the northwest quadrant.

36 Houghton Drive is one of a pair of buildings situated in the suburb of Houghton, Johannesburg with fine craftsmanship in the Arts and Crafts manner. The buildings were designed in 1919 by the architect Piercy Patrick Eagle and commissioned by the original owner P.W. McKie. Eagle was a Transvaal Government Architect from 1904–1920, and he designed public buildings including Jeppe High School for Boys and King Edward VII High School.

M16 is a metropolitan route in Johannesburg, South Africa. It begins in the north-western suburb of Greenside and heads eastwards through some of Johannesburg's northern suburbs and through Edenvale to end at the East Rand town of Kempton Park.
