Marlboro is a metro station on the Gautrain rapid transit system in Marlboro, Gauteng. It opened on 8 June 2010 with service to OR Tambo International Airport.
Marlboro is located near the southwestern corner of the interchange between the N3 Eastern Bypass and Marlboro Drive (M60) in the suburb of the same name. [1] The surrounding area is mainly residential and includes the well-known township of Alexandra.
One of the major aims of the Gautrain project is to reduce car dependency and its associated congestion through transit-oriented development (TOD). At Marlboro, this is accomplished by connecting the fragmented surrounding area with a pedestrian bridge across Marlboro Drive. Further, the TOD plan subdivides the Marlboro precinct into a number of areas, in particular Frankenwald and the Far East Bank. [2]
Marlboro station has four tracks with an island platform and side platforms. As the station is the last before the north–south line to Pretoria and the Airport Line to OR Tambo International Airport split, a cross-platform interchange is facilitated by the use of an island platform.

Gautrain is an 80-kilometre (50-mile) higher-speed express commuter rail system in Gauteng, South Africa, which links Johannesburg, Pretoria, Kempton Park and O. R. Tambo International Airport. It takes 15 minutes to travel from Sandton to O. R. Tambo International Airport on the Gautrain and 35 minutes from Pretoria in Tshwane to Park Station in Johannesburg. The Gautrain has 10 stations. Buses, shuttles and midibus services are available to transport passengers to and from all stations excluding the O. R. Tambo International Airport Station.

The Sentosa Express is a monorail line connecting Sentosa island to HarbourFront on the Singapore mainland. It was built at a cost of S$140 million to replace the previous Sentosa Monorail. Development began in June 2003 and construction works were completed in late 2006. The fully elevated 2.1-kilometre two-way line opened on 15 January 2007. The monorail system, privately owned by Sentosa Development Corporation and operated by Singapore Mass Rapid Transit, can move up to 4,000 passengers per hour per direction.
The station complex of Amtrak's Oakland Coliseum station and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)'s Coliseum station is located in the East Oakland area of Oakland, California, United States. Rhodesfield is a suburb central to Kempton Park, in Gauteng province, South Africa, just south of the CBD. It houses the last station on the Gautrain route to OR Tambo International Airport from Sandton. The station is at the corner of Anson and Valencia Streets, north of the nearby R24 highway.
