A general election will be held in the U.S. state of Alaska on November 3, 2026. Primary elections will take place on Aug 18, 2026. [1]
Two-term incumbent Dan Sullivan is running for re-election. [2] He currently has no prominent challengers.
One term incumbent Nick Begich III is running for re-election. [3] He won his seat in a highly competitive election in 2024 against then incumbent congresswomen Mary Peltola. [4]
Two-term incumbent Republican Governor Mike Dunleavy is term-limited and cannot seek re-election. Alaskans elect their Governor and Lt. Governor on one ticket and current Lt. Governor Nancy Dahlstrom is running for Governor in 2026. [5] There has also been speculation that former Democratic Congresswomen Mary Peltola will run for governor. [6]
The Alaskan House of Representatives is currently governed by a Coalition Government with all Democrats and some Republicans and Independents in control of the government. [7]
