The 2026 California Attorney General election will be held on November 3, 2026, to elect the Attorney General of California. Incumbent Democratic Attorney General Rob Bonta is eligible to seek re-election to a second term in office but may potentially run for Governor. Robert Andres Bonta is a Filipino-born American lawyer and politician serving as the attorney general of California since 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as a member of the California State Assembly for the 18th district from 2012 to 2021 and as a member of the Alameda City Council from 2010 to 2012.
