The 2026 Wyoming gubernatorial election is scheduled to take place on November 3, 2026, to elect the next governor of Wyoming. Incumbent Republican Governor Mark Gordon is term-limited and ineligible to seek a third consecutive term in 2026. However, he has not ruled out the possibility of challenging Wyoming's term-limits law in court. The Wyoming Supreme Court previously ruled that the law was unconstitutional for elections to the Wyoming State Legislature. [1]

David Duane Freudenthal is an American attorney, economist, and politician who served as the 31st governor of Wyoming from 2003 to 2011. Freudenthal previously was the United States Attorney for the District of Wyoming from 1994 to 2001. As of 2025, he is the last Democrat to win and/or hold statewide office in Wyoming.

Cindy Jo Hill is a former Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction serving from 2015-2022. In 2013, Governor Matt Mead signed legislation transferring Hill's powers to a newly created director position. Hill sued, and in 2014, the Wyoming Supreme Court ruled removing Hill was unconstitutional and she served the remainder of her term.
Gray was also asked Sunday if he himself will run for governor in 2026.
