The 1952 United States presidential election in California took place on November 4, 1952, as part of the 1952 United States presidential election. State voters chose 32 representatives, or electors, to the Electoral College, who voted for president and vice president.
California voted for the Republican nominee, former Allied Supreme Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower (with California Senator Richard Nixon as his running mate), in a landslide over the Democratic nominee, Illinois Governor Adlai Stevenson. As of the 2020 presidential election [update] , this is the last time that Yolo County has voted Republican in a presidential election, the longest Republican drought for any county in the state.
This was the first presidential election in which any nominee received over a million votes in Los Angeles County. Eisenhower was also the first Republican to secure the state since Herbert Hoover in 1928

Yolo County, officially the County of Yolo, is a county located in the northern portion of the U.S. state of California. Yolo County was one of the original counties of California, created in 1850 at the time of statehood. As of the 2020 census, the population was 216,403. Its county seat is Woodland.
