The Hartford & New Haven Railroad Freight Depot is a historic building at 40 Mechanic Street in downtown Windsor, Connecticut, across the street from the equally historic Hartford & New Haven Railroad Depot. Built about 1870, it is a well-preserved example of a Gothic Revival freight depot. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. [1] It is now the home of the Windsor Arts Center, a non-profit place that exhibits the work of visual and performing artists. [2]
The former Hartford & New Haven Railroad Freight Depot is located on the east side of Windsor's downtown area, on the west side of Mechanic Street at its junction with Central Street. It is a long rectangular two-story brick building, set between Mechanic Street and the tracks of the Hartford and New Haven Railroad, now the main line railroad between Hartford, Connecticut and Springfield, Massachusetts. It is located diagonally opposite the tracks and Center Street from the current Amtrak station. It has a largely utilitarian design with some Gothic Revival flourishes. Its roof is topped by square ventilators capped with pyramidal roofs. The present main entrance, on the short end facing Center Street, is sheltered by a gabled bracketed wood-frame hood. The long facades are eleven bays long, articulated by brick piers. Some bays have segmented-arch openings. The roof has extended eaves with exposed rafter and purlin ends. [3]
The construction date of the building is uncertain. A small freight depot is documented as standing on this site in 1869, but it is possible that the current building replaced that one around the time that the adjacent passenger depot was built by the Hartford and New Haven Railroad. [3] Since 2007, the building has housed the Windsor Arts Center.
New Haven Union Station is the main railroad passenger station in New Haven, Connecticut. It is the third such station in the city of New Haven, preceded by both an 1848 built station in a different location, and an 1879 built station near the current station's location. Designed by noted American architect Cass Gilbert, the present beaux-arts Union Station was completed and opened in 1920 after the previous Union Station was destroyed by fire. It served the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad for the next five decades, but fell into decline following World War II along with the United States railroad industry as a whole.
The Danbury Railway Museum is a railway museum housed in the former Union Station on the east end of downtown Danbury, Connecticut, United States. It was established in the mid-1990s following the closure of the station by the Metro-North Railroad in favor of a new station nearby, and primarily focuses on the history of railroading in southern New England and neighboring New York. In addition to the former station building, the museum has a collection of heritage railcars in the neighboring rail yard it shares with Metro-North.
Wallingford station is a train station on the New Haven–Springfield Line located in Wallingford, Connecticut. It is served by the CT Rail Hartford Line and by Amtrak's Northeast Regional, and Valley Flyer. A new station with high-level platforms opened on November 6, 2017 to the north of the original station. The former station building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Wallingford Railroad Station.

New London Union Station is a railroad station on the Northeast Corridor located in downtown New London, Connecticut, United States. Union Station is a station stop for most Amtrak Northeast Regional trains and all CT Rail Shore Line East commuter rail trains, making it the primary railroad station in southeastern Connecticut. It serves as the centerpiece of the Regional Intermodal Transit Center, with connections to local and intercity buses as well as ferries to Long Island and Fishers Island, New York, and Block Island, Rhode Island. The station has one side platform and one island platform serving the two-track Northeast Corridor; the latter platform also serves a siding track that connects to the New England Central Railroad mainline.

Southbridge station is a former train station in Southbridge, Massachusetts. Built in 1910 by the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad (NYNH&H), it is a rare local example of Spanish Mediterranean architecture, and is the only surviving railroad building in the town. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989 as New York, New Haven & Hartford Passenger Depot. It presently serves as the town's registry for motor vehicles.
The Downtown North Historic District is a 19-acre (7.7 ha) historic district in Hartford, Connecticut. It is a predominantly residential area located around Main Street and High Street north of I-84 and south of the Amtrak railroad tracks. Its apartment blocks, houses, schools and churches, built up mainly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as part of an expansion of the city's urban core. It includes the 130-foot (40 m) Keney Tower. The area was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
Christ Church Cathedral is a historic church at 955 Main Street in downtown Hartford, Connecticut. Built in the 1820s to a design by Ithiel Town, it is one of the earliest known examples of Gothic Revival architecture in the United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It is the cathedral church of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut, whose offices are next door at 45 Church Street.
The First Church of Christ and the Ancient Burying Ground is a historic church and cemetery at 60 Gold Street in Hartford, Connecticut, United States. It is the oldest church congregation in Hartford, founded in 1636 by Thomas Hooker. The present building, the congregation's fourth, was built in 1807, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. The adjacent cemetery, formally set apart in 1640, was the city's sole cemetery until 1803.
The Pratt Street Historic District of Hartford, Connecticut, encompasses all of Pratt Street, between Main and Trumbull Streets, in the city's downtown. This block, which includes 15 buildings, is the only place in the city where its typical early 20th-century streetscape is retained. All of the buildings in the district were built between 1830 and 1928, a significant number of them designed by major local architects. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Simsbury station is a former railroad station in the center of Simsbury, Connecticut. Built in 1875, it is a distinctive example of a railroad station with Italianate styling. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 26, 1976 as Simsbury Railroad Depot. Presently, it houses a restaurant, called "Plan B".
The Broad Street Green Historic District encompasses the historic late-19th century town center of Windsor, Connecticut. It is centered around the Broad Street Green, a public park extending on the east side of Broad Street between Union and Batchelder Streets, and includes a diversity of architecture spanning much of the town's long history. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
The Chicago and North Western Railway Depot was built by the Chicago and North Western Railway (C&NW) in 1914 at a cost of $38,000. It is located at the west end of the business district in Redfield, South Dakota. The depot is a long rectangular red brick building with a slate roof in an uncommon Gothic Revival style.
