VGP Universal Kingdom is an amusement park located in East Coast Road in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The park offering small rides during the early days of its history became a full-fledged amusement park in 1997. [1] VGP Universal kingdom, spread over 44 verdant acres provides several fun and adventure rides for children, youth and adults, including Attractions such as our very own Statue Man, Tamil Nadu's first Snow park, Petting Zoo, Beach Live Shows, Paneer fort, a massive water complex and more. VGP 2000 millennium tower, Water cascades, Paneer fort and statueman are some of the main attractions. The park is owned by VGP Group of Companies founded by V. G. Panneerdas and V.G.Ravidas is its managing director. Food and drink are available within the park.

V. G. Panneerdas was the founder of VGP Group of Companies. His story is one of the rags to riches. He started as a poor man from a remote village called Azhagappa puram near Valliyur in Tamil Nadu, India in the Tirunelveli District. This is often confused by a lot of people with another village of the same name near Nagercoil in the Kanyakumari District. He moved to Chennai in search of opportunities. In 1955, he opened a shop selling items such as alarm clocks, watches and wall clocks. He was the pioneer in South India to introduce Hire Purchase for everyday goods. He built the VGP company from virtually nothing to its present status as a group of companies including retail, real estate and property development, resorts and amusement parks, and video and audio studios.

It is a backwater area of the Bay of Bengal located 36 km (22 mi) from the city centre and 23 km (14 mi) from Adyar on the way to Mamallapuram. The boat house was inaugurated in 1984 and has 15 row boats, 27 speedboats and 9 pedal boats, besides two high-speed aqua scooters. The water depth varies between 3 ft and 6 ft. Mudaliarkuppam Boat House, also known as Raindrop Boat House, is a water sport facility located on the East Coast Road, 36 km to the south of Mamallapuram and 92 km from Chennai in India. It was developed by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation on the Odiyur lake back waters. It has rowing, cruising, speed boating, water scooting and kayaking facilities.
