CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC), Chennai is one of the 39 constituent laboratories of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research in India. The institute is a certified ISO:9001 quality institute. [1]

CSIR-SERC is involved in research and development in the field of designing, construction and rehabilitation of structures. The institute provides services including design consultancy and proof checking to various public and private sector organizations.

Specialized courses for practicing engineers are also provided by the institute.

Newmark Civil Engineering Laboratory

The Nathan M. Newmark Civil Engineering Laboratory, or Newmark Lab, located at 205 N. Mathews Avenue in Urbana, Illinois on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, houses the university's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The Lab was built in 1967, and has been modified and updated a number of times since then. The facility was named after professor and department head Nathan M. Newmark after his death.

Robert A. W. Carleton Strength of Material Laboratory is a civil engineering materials testing laboratory affiliated with the Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics (CEEM) in the Columbia School of Engineering and Applied Science. The laboratory is located on Columbia University's Morningside Heights campus in the City of New York. Carleton Laboratory provides educational facilities for the CEEM Department, supports research of infrastructure and principles of engineering, and conducts specialized testing of materials used in infrastructure in the City of New York and internationally.

Aditi Pant is an Indian oceanographer. She was the first Indian woman to visit Antarctica, alongside geologist Sudipta Sengupta in 1983 as part of the Indian Antarctic Program. She has held prominent positions at institutions including the National Institute of Oceanography, National Chemical Laboratory, University of Pune, and Maharashtra Academy of Sciences.

The K.L.E Society's KLE Institute of Technology (KLEIT) is an engineering college in Hubli, India. Established in 2008, it is one of the institutes under the banner of Karnatak Lingayat Education Society(KLE). KLEIT is approved by the AICTE and recognized by University Grant Commission of India. KLEIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum for its BE, MCA and M.Tech courses.

Gangan Prathap is an Indian scientist/engineer specialising in structural mechanics, composite material, finite elements and information science. After his graduation in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Madras, he was with National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore, for about twenty years serving the laboratory as Scientist at several levels. In April 2000 he took over as Scientist-in-Charge, CSIR Centre for Mathematical Modelling and Computer Simulation and held that position till January 2008. He had also served as the Vice-Chancellor, Cochin University of Science and Technology, for a short period from February 2008 to February 2009. After leaving CUSAT, Prathap took charge as Director of National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (NISCAIR), and continued in that position till his retirement on superannuation from Govt. service. Since August 2013, he is holding the position of Outstanding Scientist at National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram. He is also an Honorary Professor of A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University.
