Thirunindravur is a locality in the western part of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It lies within the Chennai Metropolitan Area, around 30 kilometers from the city center at Parry's Corner. The neighbourhood is served by Thirunindravur railway station of Chennai suburban railway. Thiruninravur lake provides the neighbourhood with water. It serves as the connecting hub between Chennai and Tirupati.
As of 2011 [update] India census, Thiruninravur had a population of 37095. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Thirunindravur has an average literacy rate of 91%, higher than the national average of 74%: male literacy is 95%, and female literacy is 88.6%.
Sri Bhaktavatsala Perumal is a prominent Hindu temple located in Thiruninravur, a suburban area of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is an important religious and cultural site for devotees, particularly in the western part of Chennai.
Thiruninravur has a railway station on the Chennai Suburban Railway Network, making it well-connected to Chennai City. The Chennai Central-Arakkonam railway line passes through Thiruninravur.
The Outer Ring Road which is being laid in order to connect Vandalur to Ennore is being routed via Thiruninravur (Nemilichery) and more other places. The National Highway - NH205 passes through Thiruninravur and also referred to as MTH road or CTH road. The phase I from Vandalur to Nemelicherry (Thirunindravur) has been completed and is available for traffic.
The Tamil Nadu Highways department issued a GO [2] on 4 October 2013 to extending the entire Chennai - Tiruttani highway to 6 lanes at a cost of 168 Cr. The first phase will involve extending the road to 4 lanes - 100 ft with center median and encroachments have already started to be removed. [3]

Avadi is a western suburb of Chennai, and the headquarters of Avadi taluk located within the Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, India. Situated at about 22 kilometres (14 mi) from Chennai Central Railway Station, it is one of the four municipal corporations in the Chennai Metropolitan Area and is governed by the Avadi Municipal Corporation. It is surrounded by major defence establishments and is home to various universities and engineering colleges. The neighborhood is served by Avadi Railway Station of the Chennai Suburban Railway and just 7 km from the upcoming Karayanchavadi Metro of Chennai Metro Rail. As of 2011, Avadi had a population of 345,996, which is 10th most populous place in Tamil Nadu. It is home to the Heavy Vehicles Factory (HVF), Ordnance Factory Board (ODF) which houses Engine Factory and Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (CVRDE). The lake in Avadi was known as Paaleripattu, which is now found only in very old land documents.
Ambattur is a northwestern part of Chennai, India. Poonamallee is a town and suburb of Chennai, India under the Chennai Metropolitan Area. It was historically called Pushpagirimangalam, later renamed in Tamil as Poovirundhavalli, and now colloquially called as Poondhamalli. It is the headquarters of the Poonamallee taluk of the Tiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The nearest Railway station is at Avadi. It acts as the gateway to the city from its western side. It is a town with rich cultural heritage and also a fast-growing areas in the city. As of 2011, the town had a population of 57,224. There are plans to merge the areas under Poonamallee Municipality with Avadi Municipal Corporation. It is an immediate neighbour of Chennai city and a part of the Chennai Metropolitan Area.

Maraimalai Nagar is a municipality town in South Chennai at Chengalpattu district, Tamil Nadu, India. Lying in the southern part of the Chennai metropolitan area, it is a satellite town of Chennai, the state capital, around 50 km from Downtown Chennai (Egmore) and about 15 km from Vandalur. It was developed by the CMDA in 1980. Many heavy industries are located in Maraimalai Nagar. The Ford India and BMW car factories are located within a mile from Maraimalai Nagar and the Indian software giant Infosys also has an office within eight kilometers of Maraimalai Nagar. SRM University has its main campus in the neighboring Potheri. As of 2011, Maraimalai Nagar had a population of 81,872.
Thirumullaivoyal is a western neighbourhood of Chennai the capital of the India state of Tamil Nadu, under Avadi City Municipal Corporation Limits. It is located in the Chennai Metropolitan Area in Thiruvallur district, 3 km (1.9 mi) from Avadi and 3 km (1.9 mi) from Ambattur O.T Bus depot. The neighbourhood is served by Thirumullaivoyal railway station and Annanur Railway Station. The region was historically part of Thondaimandalam, a region in Chola Empire during 9th century CE.
Pattabiram is a neighbourhood situated on the western part of Chennai, India. The suburb, which falls under Avadi Municipal Corporation, is about 25 km from the Chennai Central railway station. It is an immediate neighbour of Chennai city proper, and a part of the Chennai Metropolitan Region. It is situated in the western portion of the city.
The Outer Ring Road, officially State Highway 234, is a major transport corridor along the periphery of Chennai Metropolitan Area (CMA) by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA). It is 62 km long road connecting GST Road at Perungalathur, GST Road at Vandalur, NH 48 at Nazarethpettai, NH 716 at Nemilichery to NH 16 at Vijayanaallur and to TPP road at Minjur. On 29 August 2010, the then Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M. K. Stalin laid the foundation for the first phase of the project from Vandalur to Nemilichery covering a distance of 30 kilometres (19 mi). The Chennai ORR generally covers Avadi, Redhills, Minjur and Tambaram neighbourhoods. Chennai Outer ring road had a plan of Chennai metro rail CMRL which is going to build up at gap between two roads.
Nemilichery railway station is one of the railway stations of the Chennai Central–Arakkonam section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. It serves the neighbourhood of Nemilichery, Thiruninravur a suburb of Chennai, and is located 27 km west of Chennai Central railway station. It has an elevation of 32.05 m above sea level.
Chennai–Thiruvallur High Road, formerly known as Madras–Thiruvallur High Road, is one of the chief routes connecting the northwestern suburbs of Chennai, India. Starting from Padi Junction, the road connects the neighbourhoods of Padi, Ambattur, Thirumullaivoyil, Avadi, Pattabiram, Thirunindravur, and Thiruvallur. It is one of the four national highways that radiates out of Chennai city and is part of National Highway 205.
