Andarkuppam, is the fastest developing residential area in North Chennai, near Ponneri in Tamil Nadu, India. It is touted to be one of the best residential place in the locale.

Pulicat Lagoon is the second largest brackish water lagoon in India, after Chilika Lake. Pulicat Lagoon is considered to be the second largest brackish water body in India measuring 759 square kilometres (293 sq mi). The lagoon is one of the three important wetlands to attract northeast monsoon rain clouds during the October to December season in the Tirupati Region. Outer Ring Road, Chennai

The Outer Ring Road, officially state highway 234, is a major transport corridor being operational along the periphery of Chennai Metropolitan Area (CMA) by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA). It is 62 km long connecting GST Road at Perungalathur, GST Road at Vandalur, NH 48 at Nazarethpettai, NH 716 at Thiruninravur to NH 16 at Vijayanaallur and to TPP road at Minjur. On 29 August 2010, the then Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister M. K. Stalin laid the foundation for the first phase of the project from Vandalur to Nemilichery covering a distance of 30 kilometres (19 mi). Tamil Nadu Fisheries University

Tamil Nadu Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University (TNJFU) is the 20th university in Tamil Nadu, founded in 2012 in Nagapattinam, Nagapattinam district. It was established under Tamil Nadu Fisheries University Act, 2012. The Act was amended in 2014. It was renamed after the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Dr. J. Jayalalithaa. The Department of Fisheries was started in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) during 1973. The Fisheries College, Thoothukudi was established in 1977 and the first batch of students for B.F.Sc., Programme were admitted. The Fisheries College was upgraded as Fisheries College and Research Institute (FCRI) during the year 1989. The Fisheries College and Research Institute (FCRI), Thoothukudi became a constituent Institute of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) with effect from 20 September 1989. Tamil Nadu Fisheries University (TNJFU) was established on 19 June 2012 with head quarters at Nagapattinam. In due course of time, the TNJFU have gained widespread recognition as University of excellence. It also has a engineering program named B.Tech Fisheries Engineering first of its kind in India.

North Chennai is a geographic term used to refer to the northern part of Chennai city.
