The 13th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. [3] Located in south central Wisconsin, the district comprises most of Dodge County, the northern half of Jefferson County, and parts of eastern and northeastern Dane County. It includes the cities of Beaver Dam, Columbus, Horicon, Lake Mills, Mayville, Oconomowoc, and Watertown. [4]
The 13th senate district is currently vacant. The most recent senator, Scott L. Fitzgerald, resigned in January 2021 after he was elected to the United States House of Representatives in the 2020 general election. A special election to fill the vacancy is scheduled to be held on April 6, 2021. [5]
Each Wisconsin State Senate district is composed of three Wisconsin State Assembly districts. The 13th Senate district comprises the 37th, 38th, and 39th Assembly districts. The current representatives of those districts are: [6]
The 13th Senate district, in its current borders, crosses three different congressional districts. The portion of the district in Dane County falls within Wisconsin's 2nd congressional district, represented by U.S. Representative Mark Pocan; the portions within Columbia County and northern Dodge County are within Wisconsin's 6th congressional district, represented by U.S. Representative Glenn Grothman; the remainder of the district in Dodge, Jefferson, Washington, and Waukesha counties, falls within Wisconsin's 5th congressional district, represented by U.S. Representative Scott L. Fitzgerald. [7]
Due to the vacancy of the seat, in April 2021 there will be a special election for the to serve the remaining 20 months of the term.

Scott L. Fitzgerald is an American politician and one-time newspaper publisher. He is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, where he represents Wisconsin's 5th congressional district. He previously was a longtime member of the Wisconsin Senate, representing the 13th District from 1995 to 2021. In the wake of the 2018 elections when Democratic candidates were elected to the offices of governor, attorney general and secretary of state in Wisconsin, Fitzgerald pushed for legislation to remove powers from the incoming Democratic administration.
The 5th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district is composed of parts of western Milwaukee County, and eastern Waukesha County. It includes the cities of Brookfield and Wauwatosa, as well as most of the city of West Allis and the northern half of the city of New Berlin.

Located in east-central Wisconsin, the district comprises northern Winnebago County and southwest Outagamie County. It includes most of the city of Appleton, as well as the cities of Menasha and Neenah, roughly constituting the western half of the "Fox Cities".

Located in central Wisconsin, the district comprises all of Portage County and most of Wood County, as well as the northern half of Adams County, the western half of Waushara County, eastern Jackson County, and northern Monroe County. It contains the cities of Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids, and the U.S. Army base Fort McCoy.
The 26th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in south-central Wisconsin, the district comprises nearly all of the city of Madison, Wisconsin, in central Dane County. The district contains landmarks such as the Wisconsin State Capitol, the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus, the University of Wisconsin Arboretum, historic Forest Hill Cemetery, Edgewood College, Monona Terrace, and the Kohl Center.

Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district comprises southwest Milwaukee County, southeast Waukesha County, northwest Racine County, and northeast Walworth County. Located in south-central Wisconsin, the district comprises most of the northern half of Jefferson County, and parts of eastern Dane County and northwest Waukesha County. It includes the cities of Oconomowoc and Lake Mills, as well as the villages of Cambridge, Deerfield, Johnson Creek, Lac La Belle, and Marshall. It also contains Aztalan State Park and the Goose Lake Wildlife Area. The district is represented by Republican Barbara Dittrich, since January 2019.

Located in east-central Wisconsin, the district comprises most of the eastern half of Dodge County and part of the city of Hartford in western Washington County. It also includes the cities of Beaver Dam, Horicon, Juneau, and Mayville, and the villages of Brownsville, Clyman, Hustisford, Kekoskee, Lomira, Neosho, and Theresa, and contains half of the Horicon Marsh State Wildlife Area. The district is represented by Republican Mark Born, since January 2013.
The 43rd Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southern Wisconsin, the district comprises north and central Rock County, and parts of southeast Dane County, southwest Jefferson County, and northwest Walworth County. It includes the cities of Edgerton, Milton, and Whitewater, as well as the village of Footville and part of the village of Oregon. It also contains the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater campus and Blackhawk Technical College. The district is represented by Democrat Don Vruwink, since January 2017.
