The MA Aziz Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The local cricket and football teams play there and it is sometimes used by the Bangladesh national football team. Its total capacity is 30,000. On a historical note, this stadium was used as headquarters during the war for independence in 1971. The stadium serves as the main football venue of Chittagong as main cricket venue of the port city has been shifted to the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. It is the home venue of Chittagong Abahani in Bangladesh Premier League (football). Since 2015, the stadium is hosting Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup, country’s only international club football tournament organised by Chittagong Abahani.

The 2010 National Cricket League Twenty20 tournament in Bangladesh, played in April 2010, this was first edition of a Twenty20 league involving the teams in the National Cricket League (NCL). The tournament was initiated by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). It included six teams representing the divisions of Bangladesh. It was a limited success and has effectively been replaced by the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The tournament was won by the Rajshahi Rangers who defeated the Kings of Khulna by 6 wickets in the final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka, the winning team's Qaiser Abbas being named "Man of the Match".
The Bangladesh Premier League 2012, also known as Destiny-Boishakhi BPL 2012, was the first season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) established by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The competition featured six franchises and used a tournament format with a double round robin group stage followed by two semi-finals and a final. The season began on 9 February with the final played on 29 February. The competition was won by Dhaka Gladiators.
The Bangladesh Premier League 2013 season, also known as BPL Season 2 or Prime Bank BPL 2013, was the second season of the Bangladesh Premier League, established by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in 2012. The eight teams taking part were placed into two tiers, with Chittagong Division getting promoted to Tier 1 after their victory in Tier 2 of the 2021–22 season, replacing Khulna Division who were relegated. The tournament started on 10 October 2022, and concluded on 17 November 2022 with Rangpur Division as champions, their second NCL title. This edition of the tournament was the first to use the Dukes cricket ball, rather than the SG ball used in previous editions.
The 2024–25 National Cricket League, also known as NCL 2024–25 or Modhumoti Bank National Cricket League 2024–25 , was the 26th edition of the National Cricket League, a first-class cricket competition in Bangladesh. Unlike previous seasons, there was no two-tier system – all eight teams played every other team. Dhaka Division was the previous season's champion. The tournament was scheduled to begin on October 14, 2024, but the Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) tournament committee ruled that rain had rendered several stadiums, including those in Bogra and Khulna, unsuitable for play. As a result, the first round began on October 19, and instead of concluding on November 28, the tournament ended with the final round which began on November 30. Afterwards, the 2024–25 National Cricket League Twenty20 series was scheduled to run from December 11 to December 23.
