Kearneys Spring is located 3.6 kilometres (2 mi) south of the city centre via Ruthven Street. [3]
Kearneys Spring is divided into western and eastern portions by the wetlands formed by West Creek. [4]
The land use is predominantly suburban housing with a small area of farmland in the south of the locality used for grazing on native vegetation. [4]
The suburb was named for a family who had a dairy farm in the area. An early irrigation scheme consisting of wooden pipes transported water from the springs, providing Tooowoomba's water supply. [2]
The Christian Outreach College opened in 1982. [5] On 21 January 2019, the school was renamed Highlands Christian College. [6]
