The United Soccer League (USL) has organised soccer (association football) competitions for clubs in the United States league system since 1989. It currently organizes its Championship, League One, and League Two for men, and its Super League and W League for women. [1] [2] [3] It previously organized its SOSL / SISL / USISL (1989–1994), Pro League / Second Division (1995–2010), and Select League / A-League / First Division (1996–2010) for men, and its original W-League (1995–2015) for women. [4] It also previously organized its I-League (1986–1998) and the Major Indoor Soccer League (2011–2014), for men's indoor soccer clubs. [4] [5] Over that time, many clubs have participated in USL competitions in professional, semi-professional, pro–am, and amateur capacities.
