The masjid is located in the heart of the city of Chennai in Mount Road. The Chief Imam of the masjid since 18-Nov-2016 is "Moulana Mansoor Kashifi Qasimi" who is a well known personality in Tamil Nadu. . The masjid Imam(another Hafiz Imam) leads Special Tarawee Namaz" during Ramzan and the Chief Imam offer special Islamic Speeches (Bayans) every year. This is one of the few masjid with enough space/building to allow Muslim women to offer prayers and take part in the special Islamic Speeches (Bayans). The Chief Imam "Moulana Mansoor Kashifi Qasimi" hold his Alim degree from "Madarasa Kasiful Huda" Chennai. Later he Got his degree for Shariath Expertise(Qasimi) from world-famous "Darul Uloom" Deoband Islamic Madarasa. The Friday Jumma Islamic Speeches (Bayans)are telecast in "Tamilan TV" on every Friday night at 10PM. The Masjid also has a "Family Counseling Center" to sort out disputes within families.

The five-storeyed mosque is one of the largest in India and can house 5,000 worshippers at a time.
