Fire on the Mountain is a small chain of restaurants in the United States. The business was established in 2005. In Oregon, Fire on the Mountain operates in Portland, [1] where there are three locations, [2] [3] as well as Bend. [4] [5] [6] The restaurant has two locations in Denver, Colorado. [7] Sara Sawicki and Jordan Busch are owners. [8] [9]
Fire on the Mountain is named after a 1978 song of the same name by Grateful Dead [10] and themed after the rock band. [11] The menu includes barbecue and buffalo chicken wings, as well as French fries, onion rings, tater tots, [12] salads, [13] and fried Oreo cookies and Twinkie cakes. [14] Drink options include iced tea and lemonade, [13] and Fire on the Mountain brews its own beer. [15] The jerk sauce has ginger spice. [16]
The restaurant's El Jefe Challenge is a food challenge that tasks participants with eating 15 wings in the spiciest sauce (called El Jefe) within three minutes. [17] Waivers must be signed at the Denver locations, [18] [19] [20] and winners receive a T-shirt and can have their photograph added to a wall. [21]
The original location opened Interstate Avenue in north Portland's Overlook neighborhood in 2005. [22] The business also operates on Freemont Street in northeast Portland's Rose City Park neighborhood and on East Burnside Street in southeast Portland's Buckman neighborhood.

In Thrillist's 2015 overview of Portland's best chicken wings, Drew Tyson called Fire on the Mountain the "indisputable kings of the hot wing". [25] In 2017, Michael Russell of The Oregonian called the restaurant the "best-known spot for classic Buffalo-style wings", [26] and Today's Alessandra Bulow included a Denver location in a list of 13 of the best chicken wing eateries in the U.S. [27]
Altabira City Tavern, or simply Altabira, was an American restaurant on the top of Hotel Eastlund in Portland, Oregon's Lloyd District. The restaurant opened in 2015 and closed in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to sushi, Yoko's serves donburi, sake, sashimi, tempura, and other Japanese dishes. It has garnered a positive reception and is considered one of Portland's best sushi restaurants.
