Oklahoma has a large network of numbered highways maintained by the state. These roads fall into one of three categories: Interstate Highways, U.S. Highways, and state highways. Interstate and U.S. Highways are continuous with surrounding states, while state highways are not (though Oklahoma and another state's department of transportation may coordinate numbering).
The majority of the numbered highways within Oklahoma are maintained by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT). The only exceptions are sections of Interstate 44 (I-44) and U.S. Highway 412 (US 412), which run along turnpikes maintained by the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA). (I-44 runs along the H.E. Bailey, Turner, and Will Rogers turnpikes; US 412 is signed along the Cimarron and Cherokee turnpikes.)
Individual counties may establish a numbering system to apply to roads that they maintain. These highways are not listed here.
Oklahoma's state highways serve as the second-lowest tier on the Oklahoma road system. They are marked with a number contained inside an outline of the state, having been formerly marked inside a white circle in a black box until January 2006. [1]
SH-81 has not been issued for a state highway so that is not confused with US Highways and Interstates bearing the same number designation. SH-35 has been issued, but it is only for a short spur, far from I-35. SH-60, SH-62, SH-69, and SH-75 were once assigned but these designation have since been revoked. Other two-digit highways that have yet to be assigned include: SH-12, SH-13, SH-21, SH-41, SH-57, SH-61, SH-68, and SH-90. SH-40 was once issued, but was absorbed into U.S. Highway 177; see SH-40A. SH-41, which was an east-west route across west-central Oklahoma that began at the intersection of S.W. 29th and May Avenue in Oklahoma City and veered southwest to Mustang, Union City and Minco before continuing west through Binger, Eakly, Cordell and Sayre and then crossing the Texas border near Sweetwater, was redesignated as SH-152 over its entire length in 1955. Across the Texas Panhandle, the highway continues as TX-152 to Dumas, Texas. SH-61 had a strange east-west route across south-central Oklahoma that started at SH-13 (Now SH-3W). Where it headed south, passing through Vanoss and then to Roff, where it turned east to Fittstown. It then headed south with SH-99 until turning east again. The road turned north in Jessie. It went north until it turned back east north of Stonewall It turned east again until it ended on SH-48 in Luna.
Many Oklahoma state highways have short spur routes connecting them to towns which lie off of the main route. Many times, these bear the same number as the parent highway, with a letter suffix. Some state highway spurs and loops from US highways have designations that are drawn from the parent US Highway designation.
As higher-level roads replaced sections of some routes, those sections sometimes had their designation revoked. This led to some highways being fragmented, missing one or more sections in the middle of the road. There are also a few unrelated highways that are designated in completely different parts of the state with the same number.

State Highway 97 is a 19.86-mile (31.96 km) state highway, maintained by the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It connects two towns in the northeast part of the state: Sapulpa and Sand Springs. Several communities of West Tulsa are along the road between these two towns, including Pretty Water, Allen, and Prattville.
State Highway 74, usually abbreviated as SH-74 or OK-74 is the numbering of two different highways maintained by the U.S. state of Oklahoma. These highways were once a single major north–south route, connecting Oklahoma City to more rural parts of the state. The original road stretched from SH-7 near Tatums to SH-11 west of Deer Creek.
State Highway 156, abbreviated SH-156, is a highway maintained by the U.S. state of Oklahoma. Spanning 16.91 miles (27.21 km) through the north-central part of the state, it connects the town of Marland, Oklahoma to US-60/US-77/US-177 in the north to US-77 in the west. It is the former alignment of US-77.
State Highway 67, abbreviated as SH-67, is a 9.94-mile-long (16.00 km) highway on the south side of Tulsa. It begins in the west at U.S. Route 75 Alternate in Kiefer and runs east along 151st St. South before ending at US-64 in Bixby. Along the way it crosses US-75 in Glenpool. It has no lettered spur routes.
State Highway 270, abbreviated as SH-270, is a 14.45-mile-long (23.26 km) state highway in Oklahoma and Pottawatomie counties in Oklahoma, United States. It runs on a former alignment of U.S. Route 270 (US-270) between US-62 in Harrah and US-177 north of Shawnee. SH-270 has no lettered spur routes.
State Highway 59, abbreviated SH-59, is a 93-mile (150 km) state highway in central Oklahoma. It runs from Criner, Oklahoma in McClain Co. to Wewoka.
State Highway 10 is a state highway in northeastern Oklahoma. It makes a 233.1 miles (375.1 km) crescent through the northeast corner of the state, running from SH-99 in Osage County to Interstate 40 (I-40) near Gore. It has two lettered spur routes.
State Highway 50 is a state highway in northwestern Oklahoma. The majority of the 37.7-mile (60.7 km) highway is in Woodward County, though the northernmost three miles (4.8 km) are in Woods County. SH-50 runs near two state parks and has a lettered spur that goes to each of them.
State Highway 105 is a state highway in the north-central part of the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It runs for 29.11 miles (46.85 km) across Logan and Lincoln Counties. It has no lettered spur routes.
State Highway 34 is a state highway in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It runs for 188.3 miles (303.0 km) south-to-north in the western part of the state. The highway begins northeast of Eldorado, in the southwest corner of the state, and extends north to the Kansas state line between Woodward and Coldwater, Kansas.
State Highway 37 is a designation for two separate highways in the state of Oklahoma. The northern section runs between Hinton and Moore in central Oklahoma, while the southern section runs from the Texas state line at the Red River to Idabel, in southeastern Oklahoma. The route enters the state from Arkansas near Fogel, Arkansas, and ends at the Kansas state line south of Chetopa, Kansas.

Entering the state south of Davidson, the highway serves Oklahoma's southern tier before exiting the state east of Broken Bow. It serves the cities of Ardmore, Durant, Hugo, and Idabel, as well as Tillman, Cotton, Jefferson, Carter, Marshall, Bryan, Choctaw, and McCurtain counties.

A 504.11-mile (811.29 km) section of the highway crosses the state of Oklahoma, traversing the state from west to east. Entering the state southwest of Boise City, US-412 runs the length of the Oklahoma Panhandle and serves the northern portion of the state's main body, before leaving the state at West Siloam Springs. Along the way, the route serves many notable cities and towns, including Boise City, Guymon, Woodward, Enid, and the state's second-largest city, Tulsa.
U.S. Route 64 (US-64) is a U.S. highway running from the Four Corners area to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Between these two points, the highway passes through the entire width of Oklahoma; a total of 591.17 miles (951.40 km) of US-64 lies in the state of Oklahoma. US-64 enters the state from New Mexico, crossing the line between the two states between Clayton, New Mexico, and Boise City in Cimarron County. The route runs the full length of the Oklahoma Panhandle, then serves the northernmost tier of counties in the main body of the state before dipping southeastward to Tulsa, the state's second-largest city. From Tulsa, the highway continues southeast, leaving Oklahoma just west of Fort Smith, Arkansas. In addition to Tulsa, US-64 serves fifteen Oklahoma counties and the cities of Guymon, Woodward, Enid, and Muskogee.
