Rajeshwar Acharya is a Hindustani classical vocalist from Varanasi, India. In 2019, he was conferred the Padma Shri honour by the President of India for his contribution to the field of arts. [1]

Life

Acharya was born in Varanasi, India. He studied music from Banaras Hindu University and practiced music under Pandit Balwantrai Bhatt. He belongs to the Gwalior gharana of music. He has been associated with the arts and music department of the Banaras Hindu University and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University. He retired in 2003. [2] [3]

Kota Harinarayana is appointed as Chairman of the Board of Governors of IIT (BHU), Varanasi by Hon'ble President of India on 25.08.2020 for three years. He was the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad and the President of the Aeronautical Society of India. His schooling is from City High School, Brahmapur. He is an alumnus of the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Indian Institute of Science and IIT Bombay (Ph.D). He also holds a bachelor's degree in law. He was Programme Director and Chief Designer of India's Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Programme.

Pandit Balwant Rai Bhatt was a noted Indian composer and musician of Hindustani Vocal Music. He was also known as Bhavrang (भावरंग). He died at his home in Varanasi on 2 May 2016.

N. Rajam

N. Rajam is an Indian violinist who performs Hindustani classical music. She remained professor of Music at Banaras Hindu University, eventually became head of the department and the dean of the Faculty of Performing Arts of the University.

Kaula was also the recipient of the Padma Shri award in the year 2004.
