Nayana Apte Joshi is an Indian singer-actress who worked in Marathi, Hindi and Gujarati Movies and stage plays.
She was taught classical music by her mother Shanta Apte, Indirabai Kelkar and Yashwant Bua Joshi.[ citation needed ] She got education of Natya Sangeet from Govindrao Patwardhan, Anna Pendharkar, Narayan Bodas and at times consulted and helped by Arvind Pilgaonkar. She gained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature (Sangeet Visharat in Classical Music) [1]
Apte had worked as a child artist with her mother late Shanta Apte in "Chandipuja" in 1957. She has acted in 65 Marathi plays and also some Gujarati plays. This includes different types of roles including comedy, mythological, historical, social, traditional classic musical plays and to-date current subjects. She has done 25 Marathi Movies, 4 Hindi Movies and 6 Gujarati Movies. She has acted in 16 television serials including Marathi and Hindi. She is given interviews on radio, speeches and claims to have advised new singers. [2]

A founder member of the Theatre Academy of Pune, and most known for his plays Mahanirvan (1974), Mahapoor (1975), Atirekee (1990), Pidhijat (2003), Mickey ani Memsahib (1973), and Begum Barve (1979), all of which he also directed for the Academy. Kaksparsh is a 2012 Indian Marathi period drama film directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Aniruddha Deshpande and Medha Manjrekar. Based on a short story by Usha Datar by the same name, the film depicts the tumultuous events in a Chitpavan Brahmin family, set around 1930–1950 in Konkan. Jaymala Shiledar (21 August 1926 – 8 August 2013) was an Indian Hindustani classical singer and theatre actress. She had appeared in many sangeet nataks where she played various roles. Along with singing for the roles she played, she had also composed music for some. In the career span of over 50 years, she appeared in more than 4500 shows. She was married to co-actor singer Jayaram Shiledar along with whom she established a production banner of "Marathi Rangabhoomi". The pair together is credited for revamping the Marathi music industry. She was presented with Padma Shri award in 2013.
Shanta Apte (1916–1964) was an Indian actress-singer who worked in Marathi and Hindi cinema. Renowned for her roles in films like Duniya Na Mane/Kunku (1937) and Amar Jyoti (1936) under the Prabhat Films banner, she was active in Indian cinema from 1932 to 1958. Apte's impact on Marathi cinema "paralleled" that of Kanan Devi in Bengali cinema. Along with Kanan Devi, Apte is cited as one of the "great singing stars" from before the playback singing era. Apte began her career in films playing the role of a young Radha in the Marathi film Shyamsunder (1932). She joined Prabhat Films acting in her first Hindi language film Amrit Manthan in (1934).
