Adansi is the name of an Akan ethnic group inhabiting the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The capital of the Adansi is at Fomena. An Adansihene is still designated. The Adansi has seven paramountcies: the capital, Fomena, New Edubiase, Ayaase, Akrokyere (Akrokerri), Akrofuom, Bodwesango and, Dompoase. The Adansi is devolved into three local government divisions - Adansi South which has a population of 129,325 and an area of 1,380 square kilometres has the capital at New Edubiase; Adansi North has a population of 235,680, and an area 828 square kilometres and has its capital at Fomena; and Obuasi Municipal which has a population of 175,043 and is the second-largest urban settlement in the Ashanti Region and the eight biggest urban settlement in Ghana. Adansi South was once the largest cocoa growing area in the Ashanti Region.
The Brong-Ahafo region was a region in southern Ghana. Brong-Ahafo was bordered to the north by the Black Volta river and to the east by the Lake Volta, and to the south by the Ashanti, Eastern and Western regions. The capital of Brong-Ahafo is Sunyani. Brong-Ahafo was created on 14 April 1959 from the then Western Ashanti and named after the dominant and native inhabitants, Akans, Brong and Ahafo. In 2019, as a result of the 2018 Ghanaian new regions referendum, the region was divided into three, namely Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions, and ceased to exist.
The Ashanti Region is located in southern part of Ghana and it is the third largest of 16 administrative regions, occupying a total land surface of 24,389 km2 (9,417 sq mi) or 10.2 percent of the total land area of Ghana. In terms of population, however, it is the most populated region with a population of 4,780,380 according to the 2011 census, accounting for 19.4% of Ghana's total population. The Ashanti Region is known for its major gold bar and cocoa production. The largest city and regional capital is Kumasi.

It shares boundaries on the north with Adansi North and the northeast with the Amansie East District and on the east side shares boundary with Birim East in the Eastern Region, share boundary with Obuasi Municipal from the west and the south with Assin North in the Central Region.
Bekwai is a town and the capital of the Bekwai Municipal, a municipality in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Bekwai is the seventy-ninth most populous settlement in Ghana, with a population of 7,267 people. Bekwai and Bekwai Municipal are south of the Ashanti regional capital of Kumasi, north of Obuasi.
Bekwai Municipal Assembly is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Amansie East District, which it was created from the former Amansie District Council. Later, the western part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 12 November 2003 to create Amansie Central District; thus the remaining part has retained as Amansie East District. Then the eastern part of the district was later split off to create Bosome Freho District on 29 February 2008; while the remaining part was elevated to municipal district assembly status on the same year to become and has since been renamed as Bekwai Municipal District. The municipality is located in the southern part of Ashanti Region and has Bekwai as its capital town.
Amansie West District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988, which it was created from the former Amansie District Council. On 15 March 2018, the southern part of the district was split off to create Amansie South District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Amansie West District. The district assembly is located in the southern part of Ashanti Region and has Manso Nkwanta as its capital town.
Ejisu-Juaben Municipal District is a former district that was located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly on 10 March 1989 when it was known as Ejisu-Juaben District which was created from the former Ejisu-Juaben-Bosomtwe District Council. It was later elevated to municipal district assembly status in 2007 to become Ejisu-Juaben Municipal District. However on 15 March 2018, it was split off into two new municipal districts: Ejisu Municipal District and Juaben Municipal District. The municipality was located in the central part of Ashanti Region and had Ejisu as its capital town.

Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as Bibiani/Anhwiaso/Bekwai District, which it was later elevated to municipal district assembly status in March 2012 to become Bibiani/Anhwiaso/Bekwai Municipal District. The municipality is located in the northeast part of Western North Region and has Bibiani as its capital town.
Bosome Freho District is one of the forty-three districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Amansie East District in 2004; until the eastern part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 29 February 2008 to create Bosome Freho District; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Bekwai Municipal District while it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on that same year. The district assembly is located in the southern part of Ashanti Region and has Asiwa as its capital town.
Fomena is a small town and is the capital of Adansi North, a district in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The town is known as the place where the bond of 1844 was signed.

Antoakrom, also known as Antoakurom and Antobiakrom, is a small town in Manso in the Amansie West District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The town is located 12 miles southeast of the district capital Manso Nkwanta, and it is situated at the junction of two roads that link it to Bekwai to the east and Kumasi to the north.
Twedie is a town in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. It's located 16 km west of Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital. Twedie is the district capital of the Atwima Kwanwoma District.
